Safe behavior rules for children
It is important from childhood to explain to children the rules of safe behavior in different situations. Parents should teach their child to be attentive and careful - his health and well-being, and sometimes life, depend on this.
Teaching children about safe road behavior
To be safe on the road, children must obey traffic rules. Parents should develop the child's ability to navigate from an early age. The main way children acquire certain behavioral skills is to observe and imitate adults, especially parents. Many do not understand this and instill by personal example the wrong behavior on the road.
Teaching children how to behave safely on the road includes the following rules:
- You should cross the road at a measured pace, you cannot run and rush where you need to adhere to safety rules;
- A child, especially a small child, needs to be held by the hand while crossing the carriageway;
- It is necessary to teach the child to look around before he takes the first step onto the road. This skill must be brought to automatism;
- You can start driving through the carriageway even at the green light of the traffic light only after making sure that all cars are ready to let the pedestrian pass;
- It is important to explain and try to teach the child to approximately determine the speed of the car (very fast, slowly) and its direction, that is, to be able to determine which car is going straight and which one is preparing to turn;
- It is necessary to teach the child that it is possible to enter and exit the transport only when it comes to a complete stop; you cannot jump on the move;
- It would be good for a student to draw up a so-called "Route Sheet" from home to school and go along this path with him several times. It should be safe, even if not the shortest.
Behavior of children in a fire
With age, children are increasingly left at home alone, so from childhood it is necessary to start fire prevention work, so that in case of a fire, the child knows exactly what to do in this situation.
It is necessary to explain that in the event of a fire one cannot give in to panic and a feeling of fear, one cannot hide, because one can save oneself and others. Parents are obliged to tell the child about how to behave correctly, as well as show the place where the fire-fighting equipment and various means that help extinguish the flame are stored (blankets, things made of dense fabric).
The rules for the safe behavior of children in case of fire are as follows:
- Call adults for help immediately, or be able to call them on the phone;
- Don't try to put out the fire yourself;
- Exit the burning apartment through the door, and if this is the first floor, you can leave the burning apartment through the window;
- You cannot use the elevator, you need to go down the stairs;
- In a locked apartment, you can hide from the fire in the bathroom;
- If a small fire has occurred on the street, and there are no wires nearby, you can fill it with water.
Since it is easier for a child to perceive information in the form of pictures, it is better to study the rules of behavior for children in a fire visually and in a playful way, for example, by drawing different situations and evacuation plans.
Children's behavior on the water
In the summer, many parents send their children to health camps and sanatoriums, so it is necessary to teach the child the correct behavior on the water in advance, because in a large detachment or group, educators do not always have time to look after all the children.
Rules for the safe behavior of children on the water:
- It is forbidden to be in the reservoir if there are no adults nearby - parents or educators;
- You cannot play in places where there is a risk of falling into a body of water;
- A child swims badly or well, he cannot swim to the depth, even in the presence of adults;
- Children should be prohibited from jumping into the water from bridges, cliffs and other heights;
- Games in which you need to grab or drown others are prohibited;
- You cannot swim in places marked "Swimming is strictly prohibited".
Behavior of children on ice
Open water bodies are dangerous not only in summer, but also in the cold season, when they are covered with a layer of ice. To prevent tragedy, adults must tell the child the basic rules of behavior for children on the ice.
Rules for the safe behavior of children on ice:
- Do not test the strength of ice on a river or pond by jumping or kicking;
- Do not go on the ice of rivers with a fast current or in the place of usual growth of aquatic vegetation;
- You can not go out on the ice at night and alone;
- If, nevertheless, the child fell through the ice, it is necessary that he knows how to behave correctly - not to panic and not to make sudden movements, but to spread his arms and try to catch hold of the ice edge in order to make an attempt to crawl out of the hole;
- Correctly assess the situation in case the child witnessed an accident on the water. You should not run to the rescue yourself, you need to call adults or call the rescuers on "112".
