- Auxiliary components: polyvinyl alcohol - from 17.5 mg, aluminum hydroxide - 57.8 mg, purified water - up to 1000 mg.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Human recombinant interferon alpha-2b interacts with specific sites that are located on the surface of infected cells, thereby triggering the mechanism of inhibition of viral protein replication and promoting the synthesis of a large number of protein kinases. The result is the destruction of the cellular RNA of the virus and directly the host cell.
Along with an indirect antiviral effect, the drug enhances immunity by activating natural killer cells and enhancing the phagocytic effect of macrophages.
Infagel also has an antitumor and radioprotective effect and affects a number of processes in the body, including the functionality of the central nervous system.
Pharmacokinetics
The gel is intended for topical external use, so the systemic absorption of interferon is very low.
Indications for use
- Treatment of herpetic lesions of mucous membranes and skin: herpes simplex and herpes zoster, recurrent herpes of the face and genitals, herpetic stomatitis, gingivitis;
- Prevention of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and influenza in adults after contact with carriers.

Duration of therapy - 3-5 days or until complete cure of violations of the integrity of the mucous membranes and skin;
- Prevention of ARVI and influenza (periods of rising incidence): the gel is applied to the mucous membrane of the nasal passages 2 times a day with an interval of 12 hours. The drug is used daily during the first and third weeks of the prophylactic course, in the second week they take a break.
