Indications for use

  • Parenteral nutrition;
  • Prevention and treatment of protein deficiency that has arisen against the background of excessive consumption and increased demand or as a result of metabolic disturbances in the body of various origins;
  • Replenishment of fluid loss during surgery, burns, bleeding.

Contraindications

  • Decompensated heart failure;
  • Severe liver damage;
  • Suspected or established severe renal failure (creatinine clearance less than 30 μmol / L);
  • Phenylketonuria and other disorders in the exchange of amino acids;
  • Severe traumatic brain injury;
  • Metabolic acidosis;
  • Intoxication with methanol;
  • Shock;
  • Acute pulmonary edema;
  • Bronchial asthma;
  • Hyperkalemia;
  • Hypoxia;
  • Pathologically high content of electrolytes in the blood plasma included in this solution;
  • Hyperhydration;
  • Age up to 2 years;
  • Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Infezol 40 is used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the appropriateness of the appointment is determined by the attending physician.

Method of administration and dosage

The drug is intended for intravenous drip, slow administration, with constant monitoring of the patient's condition.

The dosage is prescribed by the doctor on the basis of clinical indications, taking into account the patient's condition and his need for fluid, amino acids and electrolytes. Recommended daily dosage:

  • Adults: from 0.6 g to 1.0 g of amino acids or up to 25 ml of solution per 1 kg of patient weight per day. In states with a predominance of catabolism: from 1.3 g to 2.0 g of amino acids or up to 50 ml per 1 kg of body weight per day;
  • Children from 2 to 18 years old: from 1.0 g to 2.0 g of amino acids or up to 50 ml of solution per 1 kg of body weight per day.

In the case of an increased need for calories and fluids, the appointment can be supplemented with the introduction of glucose, electrolyte solutions and other means.

When switching to partial oral nutrition, the dose of parenteral administration of the drug decreases in proportion to the amount of calories and fluids received by the patient orally.

At a high infusion rate, the patient may experience an intolerance reaction or a renal loss of amino acids and an imbalance in their balance.

For patients with renal and hepatic insufficiency, the dose is determined individually.

The duration of use is prescribed by the doctor, usually until the complete transition to oral or enteral nutrition.

Side effects

The use of Infezol 40 is well tolerated by patients.

Undesirable effects in very rare cases can be headache, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, in rare cases - the development of allergic reactions.

Against the background of a high rate of administration of the drug, irritation of the walls of the veins may occur.

special instructions

During the period of application of Infezol 40, it is necessary to regularly monitor renal and hepatic laboratory parameters, serum levels of electrolytes, glucose, total protein, water balance and acid-base composition. Use the drug carefully in patients with increased serum osmolarity.

In patients with pathology of heart failure, caution should be exercised when administering large doses of the solution. Metabisulfite, which is part of the sodium preparation, very rarely, including in patients with bronchial asthma, can cause hypersensitivity reactions accompanied by acute asthma attacks, vomiting, intermittent breathing, diarrhea, impaired consciousness, shock. The course of these reactions is individual in nature, but in some cases it can pose a threat to the patient's life.

The reaction products of the interaction of sodium metabisulfite with tryptophan can affect the increase in the activity of liver enzymes and the concentration of bilirubin.

It is necessary to use the contents of the bottle immediately after opening it.

The use of Infezol 40 does not affect the patient's ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.

Drug interactions

When the drug is combined with a thiamine solution (vitamin B1), thiamine breaks down.

Do not mix solutions that contain amino acids with other drugs because of the high risk of incompatibility and microbial contamination.
