Clean air in the apartment, the absence of dust and dirt is a guarantee of health, especially for people prone to allergies. However, a lot of time and effort is wasted in the struggle for cleanliness, and even detergents, which, contrary to the assurances of manufacturers, usually cannot be classified as environmentally friendly products.

Fighting dust

Your main assistant and ally here will be a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter. This is a special filter for fine air purification, which is installed not at the inlet, but at the air outlet from the device. Everyone knows the special smell after vacuuming, many describe it as "the smell of cleanliness." Alas, this is, on the contrary, the smell of dust that you have to inhale after cleaning.

The English abbreviation HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Absorption. The HEPA filter allows you to almost completely get rid of the smallest dust particles, which contain allergens. Vacuum cleaners use disposable filters (made of paper and fiberglass) and reusable filters (made of fluoroplastic). In accordance with prEN 1822 / prDIN 24183, class 10 filters, for example, trap up to 85% of dust, and class 16 filters up to 99.99995%!

So, if you want to get rid of dust as much as possible, choose the highest class HEPA vacuum cleaner possible. An alternative can be a built-in vacuum cleaner system (when dust is removed outside the premises, into the street), but it is much more expensive.

The second assistant in the fight against dust, of course, should be an air cleaner. When purchasing such a device, you need to consider the area on which you are going to use it. If the device is one for the whole apartment, focus on the area of the largest room in the house. Then you can simply move it from room to room.

The purpose of air cleaners is to remove dust particles from the air. One of the most reliable options is an air cleaner with a HEPA filter, the principle of which we described above. However, there are other air purification systems:

  • air cleaners with electrostatic (plasma) filters retain up to 90% of dust;
  • air washers work using hydrofiltration technology, while humidifying the air;
  • ionizer cleaners generate large amounts of ions around them and deposit allergens on surfaces.

Fighting the dirt: say no to microbes

In the arsenal of any housewife there are many chemicals with which cleaning is carried out - for washing dishes, floors, plumbing fixtures, sinks and mirrors. We can no longer imagine cleaning without the use of all these liquids and powders. Is there an alternative to chemistry? Of course, the name of the device, which can clean almost any surface without chemicals, is a steam generator.

The principle of operation of the steam generator is very simple: under high pressure, the water from the tank is converted into steam. The power of the device is enough to not only clean the surface of dirt, but also to remove old grease in the oven or lime deposits from plumbing. The device is perfect for cleaning windows and mirrors, and, of course, for the floor.

And most importantly, the steam not only completely cleans the surfaces, but also disinfects them. Perfect purity without any chemistry is quite achievable. When choosing a model of a steam generator, you should give preference to more powerful multifunctional devices with various nozzles. Portable steam generators have low power, therefore they are able to cope with only a small amount of cleaning.

Improving the microclimate in the house

After cleaning the air, you should think about its humidity, and this is a very relevant question for most people. The air in the apartment is usually dry. When such air is inhaled, the mucous membranes dry out in a person, he becomes more susceptible to respiratory and viral diseases.

A household appliance such as a humidifier can easily cope with the task. It will become an indispensable helper for people suffering from allergies, sinusitis and other similar diseases. It can be installed in the bedroom - the noise level during evaporation of moisture is extremely low, but the sleep will be much more restful.

According to the principle of operation, humidifiers are divided into steam and ultrasonic. When choosing a device, remember that only pure filtered water should be poured into it in order to increase the service life.

We ozonize the air

The air ozonizer, as the name suggests, is a device for producing ozone (“thunderstorm smell”). Of course, its function is not only to create a pleasant smell, but rather the opposite: it removes unpleasant odors (in particular, tobacco smoke) and purifies the air.

Home speleotherapy

Portable salt lamps - devices made of natural rock salt (halite) - will become an indispensable device for allergy sufferers. The plafond of such a lamp is made of halite, and an incandescent lamp is mounted inside. When the lamp heats up, the air ionizes. This healing effect is called "speleotherapy": you can create the effect of a salt cave in an ordinary apartment.

We wish you health and a good climate at home! With smart appliances, this is fairly easy to achieve.
