Pepfiz is a carminative drug containing digestive enzymes in combination, which accelerates the motility of the gastrointestinal tract, reduces gas production in the intestine, normalizes the process of digestion and absorption of carbohydrates and proteins.
Release form and composition
The dosage form of the drug is effervescent tablets: flat, round, with beveled edges, from pinkish-white to white, dotted blotches are allowed, with an orange scent (2 pcs. In strips; in a cardboard box 1, 2 or 7 strips).
Composition of 1 tablet:
- Active ingredients: fungal diastase (1: 2000) - 0.02 g, papain - 0.06 g, simethicone - 0.025 g;
- Auxiliary components: anhydrous sodium bicarbonate, sodium lauryl sulfate, fumaric acid, citric acid, potassium bicarbonate, sodium saccharin, sunset yellow supra (dye), orange flavor (519.41 / R).
Indications for use
- Liver disease;
- Chronic pancreatitis;
- Non-ulcer dyspepsia syndrome;
- Enteritis;
- Flatulence;
- Increased gas formation in the postoperative period;
- Feeling of fullness in the stomach, due to overeating, unusual food, alcohol abuse, caffeine, nicotine.
Pepfiz is also used to prepare a patient for ultrasound (ultrasound) and X-ray examination of the abdominal organs.
Contraindications
- Pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding (lactation);
- Childhood;
- Hypersensitivity to the active and auxiliary components of the drug.
Pepfiz is taken with caution in case of arterial hypertension and liver and kidney diseases.
Method of administration and dosage
The tablets are taken orally after meals, for which the effervescent tablet should be completely dissolved in 130 ml (0.5 cups) of water.
Recommended dosage regimen: 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.
To prepare the patient for ultrasound and X-ray examination of the abdominal organs - 1-2 tablets 2 times a day (morning and evening) are taken 1-2 days before the procedure.
Side effects
While taking Pepfiz, hypersensitivity reactions may develop.

If you need to limit salt intake or follow a salt-free diet, it should be borne in mind that one effervescent tablet contains 419 mg of sodium.
