How to deal with stress
Before we talk about how to deal with stress, let's understand what stress is. In physiology, there is such a thing as homeostasis. This constancy of the basic functions of the body's vital activity, in fact, is a guarantee of this very vital activity. Stress is pressure on the body of any nature that threatens homeostasis. Thus, stress is extreme cold, hunger, illness, and emotional overload. When people wonder how to deal with stress, they usually mean psycho-emotional stress. As we grow older, we all learn to deal with the stress caused by hunger or cold, and neither parents nor school teach us what to do with emotional stress.
The problem is quite acute, since psycho-emotional stress, hereinafter referred to simply as stress, affects the body no less, and sometimes even more, than hunger. Mental stress is imperceptible, especially when it is not too significant, and does not pay special attention to itself. Just think, tired, quarreled, nervous, we say to ourselves. But stress has the ability to accumulate, sooner or later the body's ability to heal itself is exhausted, and a person gets sick.
What is the connection between stress and illness? The most direct. Psycho-emotional stress affects the nervous system, exhausting it. But the nervous system controls all other functions of the body, including immunity depends on it. An unbalanced nervous system
always leads to illness. It will manifest itself where a person has a "delicate place", a predisposition, but the cause will be in stress.
How to deal with stress? The answer sounds simple, but difficult to execute. You just need to improve your life and strengthen the nervous system. This can be done in two ways. The first one is external: to minimize the amount of stress. Find a quieter job, get rid of annoying people around you, streamline your lifestyle. The second internal: to increase your stress resistance. A lot of techniques have been developed for this: psycho-trainings, relaxation techniques, aromatherapy and many others. It is most expedient, of course, to combine these two methods. Then there will be less stress in your life, and it will be easier to cope with them.
