Vitagamma is a multivitamin remedy.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - solution for intramuscular administration: transparent, red, with a characteristic specific odor [2 ml in ampoules, 5 ampoules in a pallet or a blister strip, 1 or 2 pallets / packaging in a carton box (when using ampoules without a dot or the pack break rings are completed with an ampoule knife or a scarifier)].

Active substances in 1 ml of solution:

  • pyridoxine hydrochloride - 50 mg;
  • thiamine chloride - 50 mg;
  • lidocaine hydrochloride - 10 mg;
  • cyanocobalamin - 0.5 mg.

Additional components: potassium hexacyanoferrate, benzyl alcohol, sodium hydroxide, sodium polyphosphate, water for injection.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

The pharmacological action of Vitagamma is determined by the properties of its constituent components:

  • vitamin B 1 (thiamine): has antioxidant activity, prevents protein glycation, takes part in the regulation of nerve impulses;
  • vitamin B 6 (pyridoxine): necessary for the synthesis of neurotransmitters (dopamine, norepinephrine, etc.), reactions of decarboxylation, re- and deamination of amino acids; accelerates regenerative processes in the nervous tissue and prevents the accumulation of ammonia;
  • Vitain B 12 (cyanocobalamin): takes part in the synthesis of myelin tissue, required for normal hematopoiesis.

The active components, acting in combination, improve the function of motor, autonomic and sensory nerves, and also regulate protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism, and contribute to its normalization.

Indications for use

According to the instructions, Vitagamma is intended for the treatment of neurological diseases caused by a diagnosed deficiency of vitamins B 1, B 6 and B 12.

As part of complex therapy, the drug is used for symptomatic treatment of various diseases of the nervous system, such as:

  • polyneuropathy (including diabetic and alcoholic);
  • neuralgia;
  • neuritis and polyneuritis (including accompanied by pain syndrome), including retrobulbar neuritis;
  • peripheral paresis (including the facial nerve).

Contraindications

  • thrombosis and thromboembolism;
  • heavy bleeding;
  • erythrocytosis;
  • erythremia;
  • arterial hypotension;
  • severe forms of decompensated heart failure;
  • shock conditions;
  • pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding;
  • childhood;
  • hypersensitivity to drug components.

Carefully:

  • tendency to form blood clots;
  • Wernicke's encephalopathy;
  • neoplasms (benign or malignant), accompanied by megaloblastic anemia and vitamin B 12 deficiency;
  • severe angina;
  • premenopausal and climacteric periods in women;
  • age over 65.

Instructions for the use of Vitagamma: method and dosage

Vitagamma injections are given deeply intramuscularly.

The initial dose in severe cases and in acute pain is 2 ml daily. After improvement of the condition and in milder forms of the disease, 2 ml is prescribed 2-3 times a week.

Side effects

The drug is generally well tolerated, in rare cases there are: acne, increased sweating, tachycardia, allergic reactions (itching, skin rashes, urticaria), systemic reactions (Quincke's edema, shortness of breath, anaphylactic shock).

In the case of a very rapid administration, the following are possible: headache, arrhythmia, agitation, dizziness, tachycardia or bradycardia, cardialgia, vomiting, convulsions.

Overdose

Main symptoms: increased symptoms of side effects.

Therapy: symptomatic.

If the recommended dosage is significantly exceeded, the severity of side effects increases. To eliminate them, symptomatic therapy is carried out.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

Vitagamma injections during pregnancy / lactation are not prescribed.

Drug interactions

Sulfite-containing solutions destroy thiamine, and copper ions with a pH value of more than 3 accelerate its decomposition.

Vitamin B 6 in therapeutic doses reduces the effect of levodopa.

Vitamin B 12 is incompatible with heavy metal salts.

Like other B vitamins, cyanocobalamin is rapidly destroyed in solutions containing thiamine (this is prevented by the low concentrations of iron ions present in the preparation).
