Yarrow herb is a herbal preparation used for disorders of bowel function.
Release form and composition
Dosage forms of the drug release:
- grass-powder (raw vegetable powder): particles of inflorescences, stems, leaves and flowers of yarrow passing through a sieve with holes with a diameter of 2 mm; from yellowish-green in color with light green, yellowish-white, grayish-brown and white blotches to grayish-green; has a fragrant weak odor; the taste of the water extract is bitter, spicy (1.5 g each in filter bags, in a cardboard box 10 or 20 filter bags);
- chopped grass: a mixture of pieces of leaves, flower baskets, stems, individual flowers that pass through a sieve with holes with a diameter of 7 mm; grayish green with whitish yellow blotches; has a weak aromatic odor; the taste of water extract is bitter-spicy (in paper bags of 40, 50, 75 or 100 g, in a cardboard box 1 bag).
Active ingredient: yarrow grass - 100%.
The plant contains biologically active compounds: tannins, essential oil (including millefolid, chamazulene, borneol), vitamins C and K, micro- and macroelements, bitterness, saponins, flavonoids, etc.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
The infusion of the plant has a hemostatic, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effect.
Indications for use
- spasm of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract;
- minor bleeding in the postcoagulation period of therapy for cervical erosion;
- heavy menstrual bleeding (along with other drugs).
Contraindications
Absolute:
- age up to 12 years;
- pregnancy;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Relative (Yarrow herb is prescribed under medical supervision):
- increased blood clotting;
- burdened history of thromboembolism;
- lactation period.
Instructions for use of Yarrow herb: method and dosage
According to the instructions, Yarrow herb is taken orally in the form of an infusion, preferably 30 minutes before meals.
Place two filter bags in an enamel / glass dish, pour 200 ml of boiling water, cover and leave for 15 minutes, periodically pressing the bags with a spoon. After that, the filter bags must be squeezed out, the resulting infusion must be brought to 200 ml with boiled water. Take warm 3 times a day for 1 / 2-1 / 3 glass.
Approximately 15 g (3 tablespoons) of crushed raw materials must be placed in an enamel / glass dish, pour 200 ml of boiled hot water, cover and heat in a water bath for 15 minutes. Refrigerate for 45 minutes at room temperature. After that, strain, squeeze the raw materials, bring the resulting infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Take in warm form 3 times a day, 2-3 tablespoons.
It is recommended to shake the infusion before taking it.
