Pharmacological action Essentiale
Essential phospholipids (the active substance of the drug) included in Essentiale are a highly purified fraction of phosphatidylcholine and in their chemical structure are similar to the main structural elements of cell membranes (endogenous membrane phospholipids).
The functional significance of phospholipids involved in cell division, differentiation and regeneration is based on amphiphilic properties that allow regulating the permeability of the cell membrane.
