Sinokrom is a drug for the treatment of degenerative joint lesions.
Pharmacological properties of Sinokrom
This drug belongs to a group of drugs that replace synovial fluid in the joints. In essence, it is a chondroprotector, that is, a tool that lubricates the cartilage of the joint, and thereby improves mobility, relieves the feeling of stiffness and soreness in the affected joints during movement.
Sinokrom contains an active ingredient - sodium hyaluronate. It is a large-molecular polysaccharide, viscoelastic in terms of its physicochemical properties, and the instructions for Sinokrom recommend using it as an implant for insertion into the synovial space of the affected joints.
The drug lubricates and absorbs the damaged surface of the cartilage, preventing its abrasion and thinning, thereby breaking the pathological chain of arthrosis development. This medicine improves the condition of the tissues of the affected joints, stimulates its cartilage tissue to form synovial fluid and its own hyaluronate, thus restoring the disturbed balance. The destruction of the articular cartilage slows down for a long time, therefore, according to reviews, Sinokrom reduces the patient's need for taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which have many side effects, and also postpones the time of a possible joint replacement surgery.
Release form
The drug is made in the form of 1% and 2% solutions, releasing them in disposable syringes. Like its analogues, Sinokrom is a pyrogen-free, isotonic, sterile solution. For the treatment of large joints (knee, hip), syringes with a volume of 2 ml are produced, 1 ml of solution is enough for small joints (metatarsal, elbow, facet), therefore it is more profitable and more convenient to use the analogue of Synokrom mini. There is a form of prolonged action with the prefix "forte", if it is used for the course, 3 such injections are enough. The injection needle is not included.
Indications for use of Sinokrom
According to the instructions, Sinokrom is used for degenerative-dystrophic and post-traumatic joint lesions (arthrosis, that is, diseases of a non-inflammatory nature), in case of limitation of mobility in the joints and concomitant pain syndrome. It is able to temporarily replace joint fluid, for example, before prosthetic surgery, improving the patient's quality of life during the waiting period. Sinokrom also has good reviews in the treatment of patients who lead an active lifestyle, and therefore regularly overload the diseased joint.
Contraindications to the use of Sinokrom
You can not use this drug in cases of infectious lesions of the joints, with intolerance to the components of the drug. Also, there are no reviews about Synokrom in pregnant women and persons under the age of 18, in this case the benefits of the use should be related to the possible risk of side effects. According to the instructions, Synokrom does not have a general effect on the body, but acts only locally, in the joint itself.
Instructions for the use of Sinokrom
This drug, like other analogues of Sinokrom, should be administered only by a trained and certified specialist and only on the recommendation of the attending physician, since the drug must be injected directly into the joint space. And although there is no need for hospitalization during the course of treatment, it is still necessary to inject in a medical institution, for example, of an outpatient type. This is necessary in order to create aseptic conditions for manipulation and to exclude the possibility of infection in the joint. It may also be necessary to remove the medication back from the joint in case of severe pain.
Depending on the size of the joint, 1 or 2 ml of the solution is injected once a week for 3 to 5 weeks in a row. The maximum number of injections per course is 5, the minimum is 3. According to reviews, Sinokrom has a pronounced effect after the third injection, but its positive effect lasts up to 6 months after the course of treatment. Multiple joints can be injected at the same time. By decision of the attending physician, it is possible to repeat the course not earlier than in 1 month. The use of Sinokrom is possible simultaneously with other drugs for intra-articular administration.
Side effects
During treatment with Synokrom, according to reviews, such symptoms at the injection site as soreness, redness, swelling, and a feeling of heat are occasionally possible. To prevent their appearance, after the injection, it is advisable to apply ice to the injection site for 5 to 10 minutes. If the introduction is associated with severe pain, the drug solution must be removed from the joint space. Like its analogues, Sinokrom is a biological preparation, it is obtained by biofermentation, therefore, the attending physician should be aware of its possible immunological properties.
