Release form and composition
Dosage form of Reglisam:
- tablets: flat-cylindrical, round, from yellow with a brownish tint to white with a yellowish tinge, with darker blotches, with a chamfer (in a cardboard box 5 or 10 packs of cell contour, containing 10 tablets each);
- granules for the preparation of oral solution for children: from white with a yellowish tinge to white (in a cardboard box 10 or 30 packages containing 1.3 g of granules each).
Each pack also contains instructions for the use of Reglisam.
Composition of 1 tablet:
- active substance: ammonium glycyrrhizinate (glycyram) in terms of 100% substance - 0.05 g;
- auxiliary components: calcium stearate - 0.001 g; talc - 0.001 g; potato starch - 0.008 g; sodium chloride - 0.1 g
The mass of 1 tablet is 0.16 g.
The composition of granules for the preparation of oral solution for children, contained in 1 package:
- active substance: ammonium glycyrrhizinate (glycyram) in terms of 100% substance - 0.025 g;
- auxiliary components: milk sugar (lactose monohydrate) - 1.215 g; potato starch - 0.01 g; sodium citrate disubstituted (sodium hydrocitrate) - 0.05 g.
The mass of granules in 1 package is 1.3 g.
Pharmacological properties
Reglisam stimulates the function of the adrenal cortex, has an anti-inflammatory and moderate expectorant effect.
Indications for use
- complex treatment of pathologies of the respiratory tract accompanied by difficult to separate sputum, including mild forms of bronchial asthma (as an expectorant drug);
- allergic dermatitis, eczema, Addison's disease (diencephalic-pituitary forms); the drug is used both in monotherapy and in combination with adrenocorticotropic hormone;
- complex therapy of hypotonic syndrome, asthenic conditions, hypofunction of the adrenal cortex against the background of long-term use of glucocorticosteroids (GCS), including the prevention of withdrawal syndrome in the period after the cancellation of GCS treatment or a decrease in their doses.
Contraindications
Absolute:
- severe organic damage to the heart and parenchymal organs;
- pregnancy;
- period of breastfeeding;
- children's age: for tablets - under 10 years old, for granules - under 5 months;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Additional absolute contraindications for granules for oral solution preparation for children:
- impaired liver and kidney function;
- glucose-galactose malabsorption;
- lactose intolerance;
- lactase deficiency.

Reglisam, instructions for use: method and dosage
Pills
Reglisam tablets are taken orally half an hour before or after meals.
The recommended dose for children over 10 years of age and adults is 1-2 tablets 2 times a day. In more severe cases, a single dose is increased to 2 tablets from 3 to 6 times a day.
The duration of therapy varies from 14 days to six months. The possibility of repeating the course of treatment, the dose of the drug and the duration of its use are determined by the doctor on an individual basis.
Granules for oral solution for children
The solution prepared from the granules is taken orally half an hour after a meal. Immediately before use, the contents of 1 packet of granules (1.3 g) are dissolved in 15 ml (1 tbsp. Spoon) of warm boiled water (single dose).
The recommended dosage regimen for children, depending on age, is:
- from 5 months to 3 years: 1 bag of granules 2 times a day;
- from 3 to 5 years: 1 bag of granules 3 times a day;
- from 5 to 10 years: 1 bag of granules 3-4 times a day.
The duration of taking Reglisam granules for children varies from 3 to 30 days with a possible repetition of the course of therapy as prescribed by the doctor.
For children over the age of 10, the drug is prescribed in the form of tablets.
Side effects
During the period of taking Reglisam, allergic reactions may develop, which requires its cancellation.
