Release form and composition
Dosage form - coated tablets: round, convex on both sides, from white to white-yellowish color, with a dividing line on one side (in blisters of 12 pcs., 1 or 2 blisters in a cardboard box).
Active ingredient: melatonin, its content in 1 tablet is 3 mg.
Additional components: microcrystalline cellulose, calcium hydrogen phosphate and magnesium stearate.
Shell composition: shellac, talc, isopropanol.

The active ingredient of Melaxen is melatonin - an adaptogenic agent, a chemical analogue of the biogenic amine melatonin, synthesized from amino acids of plant origin.
Melatonin is a synthetic analogue of the pineal gland hormone. Its main properties:
- normalization of circadian rhythms;
- regulation of the cycle "sleep - wakefulness";
- restoration of physical activity and body temperature.
Melaxen normalizes night sleep, namely, it speeds up falling asleep, reduces the number of night awakenings, improves sleep quality and well-being after waking up in the morning. Dreams in patients taking the drug become more vivid and emotionally intense. At the same time, melatonin does not cause feelings of lethargy, fatigue and weakness in the morning.
Melaxen reduces stress reactions, contributes to better adaptation of the body to the rapid change of time zones. Shows immunostimulating and pronounced antioxidant activity.
Melatonin inhibits the secretion of gonadotropins, to a lesser extent - other hormones of the adenohypophysis (growth hormone, thyrotropin, corticotropin). Does not cause addiction and addiction.

Melaxen should be taken orally.
As a hypnotic, ½-1 tablet is prescribed 1 time a day 30-40 minutes before bedtime.
As an adaptogenic agent, Melaxen is recommended to start taking 1 day before the time zone change and continue taking the next 2-5 days. The recommended dose is 1 tablet 30-40 minutes before bedtime. In some cases, it is possible to increase the daily dose to 2 tablets.
Side effects
- Digestive system: diarrhea, nausea and / or vomiting;
- Central nervous system: drowsiness in the morning, headache;
- Others: edema (more often in the first week of treatment), allergic reactions.
Overdose
In case of overdose, there is an increase in the side effects described above.
