Release form and composition
Magvit is available in the form of capsules: size No. 0, with a hard gelatinous shell, yellow, inside - white powder with a slight yellow or gray tint or white (10 pieces in a blister strip, in a cardboard box 3 or 5 packs).

- active ingredients: magnesium citrate - 0.35 g (equivalent to the content of 0.05 g of magnesium), pyridoxine hydrochloride - 0.005 g;
- auxiliary components: potato starch, lactose, magnesium stearate;
- shell: glycerol, pharmaceutical gelatin, sodium lauryl sulfate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, quinoline yellow dye (E104), titanium dioxide, sunset dye (E110), purified water.

Magwit is a vitamin and mineral complex, the therapeutic effect of which is due to the pharmacological properties of its main components - magnesium and pyridoxine hydrochloride.
Magnesium - a trace element involved in the storage, transfer and utilization of energy, the synthesis of nucleic acids and protein in the ribosomes and nucleus, is an indispensable element in the synthesis of all neuropeptides in the brain, a cofactor of many enzymatic reactions. It is part of 13 metalloproteins, more than 300 enzymes, including glutathione synthetase, which converts glutamate into glutamine. Participates in DNA replication, RNA transcription, in a number of mitochondrial processes. Provides control of the balance of intracellular potassium.
The manifestation of the primary deficiency of magnesium in the body is muscle weakness, increased reflex excitability, tremor, ataxia, tetany, sleep disorder, irritability, diarrhea, heart rhythm disturbances. The clinical symptoms of secondary magnesium deficiency are varied and usually not specific.
Pyridoxine hydrochloride, or vitamin B 6, plays an important role in the metabolism of tryptophan, cysteine, glutamic acid, methionine, participates as a coenzyme in protein metabolism, the synthesis of neurotransmitters, and improves lipid metabolism in atherosclerosis. After pyridoxine enters the body, hydrochloride is phosphorylated and converted into an active coenzyme form - pyridoxal-5-phosphate. The presence of magnesium in Magwit makes it possible to activate the process of transformation of pyridoxine in the liver. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate is an integral part of enzymes that decarboxylate and transaminate amino acids, and facilitate their transport across the cell membrane. Vitamin B 6activates phosphorylase, necessary for the formation of glycine, serotonin, neurotransmitters, gamma-aminobutyric acid. Takes part in the metabolic processes of unsaturated fatty acids, folic acid, vitamin B 12, in the synthesis of porphyrins.
The combination of magnesium with pyridoxine hydrochloride complements the pharmacological action of each of the active ingredients of Magwit. The presence of vitamin B 6 contributes to the consolidation of intracellular magnesium, an increase in the level of its concentration in blood plasma and erythrocytes, and a decrease in the amount of magnesium excreted from the body. It improves the absorption of magnesium from the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and its entry into cells.
Pharmacokinetics
In the gastrointestinal tract, 50% of the ingested dose of magnesium is absorbed. About 99% of magnesium is distributed in the intracellular space of the body. It is excreted mainly through the kidneys, mainly at night. Excretion is regulated by bone tissue, the digestive tract and the kidneys.
Absorption of pyridoxine hydrochloride occurs in the small intestine. It enters the tissues with the blood stream, after penetration into the cells, it is phosphorylated with the participation of adenosine triphosphoric acid and pyridoxal kinases. The breakdown of coenzymes is carried out in tissues by dephosphorylation and oxidation. It is excreted through the kidneys in the form of the main product of catabolism - 4-pyridoxylic acid.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Magwit is indicated for established magnesium deficiency, the occurrence of which has occurred in isolation or associated with other conditions.
Contraindications
- phenylketonuria;
- severe renal failure with creatinine clearance (CC) less than 30 ml / min;

Magvit should be used with caution during pregnancy and in patients with moderate renal failure.
Instructions for the use of Magvit: method and dosage
Magvit capsules are taken orally, with meals, with 200 ml of water.
The need to use the vitamin-mineral complex, its dose and the period of treatment is prescribed by the doctor, taking into account clinical indications.
Recommended dosage: 2 pcs. 2-3 times a day. The duration of the course is from 30 to 60 days.
Reception of Magvit should be accompanied by regular monitoring of the level of magnesium in the blood, since after its normalization, the use of the drug should be discontinued.
Side effects

- from the gastrointestinal tract: abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, constipation.
Overdose
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, a sharp drop in blood pressure, inhibition of reflexes, anuria, respiratory depression, cardiac arrest, cardiac paralysis, coma.
Treatment: immediate rehydration, forced diuresis. For patients with renal failure, the appointment of hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis is necessary.
