Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Levomicon-TFP is a combined agent for external use, which has a dehydrating (anti-inflammatory) and antimicrobial effect.
Chloramphenicol (one of the active components) contained in the preparation belongs to antibacterial agents of bacteriostatic action. It disrupts the process of protein synthesis in a microbial cell, is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms - Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, staphylococci and others. The substance easily penetrates deep into tissues without damaging biological membranes. Its antibacterial effect is preserved in the presence of necrotic masses and pus.
The second active ingredient of the drug is dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine, which has a dehydrating (anti-inflammatory) effect. By normalizing nucleic acid metabolism, it stimulates epithelialization, granulation maturation and tissue growth, and regeneration processes in wounds.
Indications for use
Levomicon-TFF ointment is prescribed for the treatment of purulent wounds in the first phase of the wound process (purulent-necrotic), including those infected with mixed microflora.
Contraindications
Absolute:
- lactation period;
- age under 1 year;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Levomicon-TFF is prescribed under medical supervision during pregnancy.
Levomikon-TFF, instructions for use: method and dosage

Dressings must be carried out daily, once a day, until the wound is completely cleared of purulent-necrotic masses.
In cases of large wound surfaces, the dose of the drug in terms of chloramphenicol should not exceed 3 g per day.
The duration of therapy directly depends on the course and severity of the pathology. If after the course of treatment there is no improvement or new symptoms appear, you should consult your doctor for advice.
