Release form and composition
Dosage form: capsules No. 0 gelatinous solid light brown, containing powder from orange-brown to light brown interspersed with a lighter shade (10 pieces in blisters, in a cardboard box of 3 or 10 blisters).
Content of active ingredients in 1 capsule:
- Herb smoky medicinal in the form of dry extract - 275.1 mg, including protopin - 4.13 mg;
- Milk thistle fruits in the form of a dry extract - 83.1 mg, including silymarin - 50 mg, with a silybinin content of at least 22 mg.
Excipients: corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, copolyvidone, macrogol 6000, silicon dioxide, talc.
The composition of the capsule shell: iron oxide (black, yellow and red), gelatin, titanium dioxide, purified water.

Medicinal smoke extract contains the alkaloid fumarin, which eliminates spasm of the gallbladder and bile ducts and normalizes the amount of bile produced, which facilitates its transportation to the intestines.
The milk thistle extract contains silymarin, which provides a hepatoprotective effect when taken in case of acute and chronic intoxication of the body, is characterized by membrane stabilizing and antioxidant activity, binds toxins and free radicals in liver tissues, enhances protein synthesis, and promotes the regeneration of hepatic parenchyma cells.
The drug improves liver function in various pathological conditions occurring in a chronic form.
Pharmacokinetics
After oral administration, the flavonoids that are part of silymarin are excreted mainly in the bile and are involved in the processes of intestinal-hepatic recirculation.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Gepabene is used as part of the complex therapy of the following diseases:
- Chronic toxic liver damage;
- Dyskinesia of the biliary tract, including after resection of the gallbladder;
- Chronic hepatitis.
Contraindications
- The period of exacerbation of inflammatory diseases of the biliary tract and liver;
- Age under 18;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
During pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding), the use of Hepabene is allowed only as directed by a specialist.
Instructions for use of Hepabene: method and dosage
Capsules should be taken orally with meals, without chewing, with a small amount of water.
The period of treatment is prescribed by the doctor based on clinical indications, the dosage is usually 1 capsule 3 times a day.
Patients suffering from pain syndrome at night are advised to take an additional 1 capsule at bedtime.
The maximum daily dose is no more than 6 capsules, the frequency of administration is 3-4 times a day.
