Anatomical nomenclature
Anatomical nomenclature (nomina anatomica; lat.nomenclatura - list, list) - a systematic list of anatomical terms. Distinguish between international (in Latin) and national (in English, Russian, German and other languages) anatomical nomenclature.
Allocate:
- Basel Anatomical Nomenclature (Baseler Nomina Anatomica; BNA) - the first international list of anatomical terms, adopted in 1895 in Basel at the congress of the German Anatomical Society. It is based on terms indicating the direction, attitude and position of body parts in relation to a person in an upright position;
- Anatomical nomenclature Jena (Jenaer Nomina Anatomica; JNA) - a list of anatomical terms adopted in 1935 in Jena at the congress of the German Anatomical Society. The Jena anatomical nomenclature has not received international approval, since it was drawn up in relation to the position of the body of four-legged animals;
- Parisian anatomical nomenclature (Parisiana Nomina Anatomica; PNA) - the current international list of anatomical terms, adopted in 1955 in Paris at the VI International Congress of Anatomists, developed on the basis of the Basel Anatomical Nomenclature; is the basis of the Russian anatomical nomenclature.
