Angiovitis is a complex of B vitamins.
Release form and composition
Vitamin complex Angiovit is produced in coated tablets (10 pcs. In blisters, 6 packs in a cardboard box).
Composition of 1 tablet of the drug:
- Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) - 4 mg;
- Folic acid (vitamin B9) - 5 mg;
- Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) 6 mg
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
The pharmacological properties of Angiovit are due to the action of the B vitamins included in its composition.
Folic acid is involved in the synthesis of DNA and RNA, as well as amino acids, and is responsible for erythropoiesis. This substance minimizes the risk of spontaneous miscarriage in early pregnancy, and is also a means of preventing congenital intrauterine malformations of the nervous and cardiovascular systems of the fetus. Taking folic acid allows you to avoid malformations of the limbs of the fetus caused by insufficient concentration of this compound in the body of a pregnant woman.
Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B 12) is an important element of many metabolic processes and is involved in DNA synthesis. The compound is responsible for the production of myelin, which is part of the sheath of nerve fibers. Deficiency of vitamin B 12 during pregnancy can lead to inhibition of the formation of the myelin sheath of nerves in the fetus. Cyanocobalamin improves the resistance of erythrocytes to hemolysis and enhances the tissue's ability to regenerate.
Pyridoxine (vitamin B 6) takes part in metabolism and is vital for the full functioning of the central and peripheral nervous system. With toxicosis of pregnant women, this substance prevents the development of nausea and vomiting. Vitamin B 6 allows you to replenish the lack of pyridoxine in the body associated with taking oral contraceptives before pregnancy.
B vitamins (B 6, B 12 and folic acid) are important components of the metabolism of homocysteine. Angiovitis is able to activate the main enzymes of methionine remethylation and transsulfurization in the body - cystathione-B-synthetase and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase. The consequence of this is the intensification of methionine metabolism and a decrease in the concentration of homocysteine in the blood.
Homocysteine is a predictor of pathological changes in the human body (neuropsychiatric disorders, pregnancy pathologies, cardiovascular diseases). The use of Angiovit as an element of complex therapy allows to normalize the level of this compound in the blood.
Pharmacokinetics
Folic acid is absorbed in the small intestine at a high rate, while participating in the processes of recovery and methylation with the formation of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, which is present in the portal circulation. Folic acid levels rise to a maximum 30-60 minutes after ingestion.
Absorption of vitamin B 12 occurs after its interaction in the stomach with the "internal Castle factor" - a glycoprotein produced by the parietal cells of the stomach. The maximum concentration of a substance in plasma is recorded 8–12 hours after ingestion. Like folic acid, vitamin B 12 is subjected to substantial enterohepatic recirculation. Both components are characterized by significant binding to plasma proteins and the accumulation of their excess in the liver.
Daily 4-5 mcg of folate is excreted through the kidneys as folic acid, 5-methyltetrahydrofolate and 10-formyltetrahydrofolate. Folate is also excreted in breast milk. The average half-life of vitamin B 12 is approximately 6 days. Part of the dose taken is excreted in the urine during the first 8 hours, but most of it is excreted in the bile. Approximately 25% of metabolites are excreted in faeces. Vitamin B 12 crosses the placental barrier and into breast milk.
Vitamin B 6 is easily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and in the liver is converted into pyridoxal phosphate - the active form of this vitamin. In the blood, a process of non-enzymatic conversion of pyridoxine to pyridoxamine occurs, which leads to the formation of one of the end products of metabolism - 4-pyridoxyl acid. In tissues, pyridoxine is phosphorylated and converted into pyridoxal phosphate, pyridoxine phosphate and pyridoxamine phosphate. Pyridoxal is further metabolized to 4-pyridoxyl and 5-phosphopyridoxylic acid, which are excreted in the urine through the kidneys.
Indications for use
Angiovitis is included in the complex treatment of heart ischemia, cerebral circulatory failure of atherosclerotic genesis, diabetic angiopathy.
The use of the drug is effective in hyperhomocysteinemia (a disease resulting from a deficiency of vitamins B6, B12, folic acid).
Angiovitis is also used during pregnancy to normalize placental blood circulation.
Contraindications
Angiovitis is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Instructions for the use of Angiovita: method and dosage
The tool is taken 1 tablet per day, regardless of food intake, for 20 days or a month.
Side effects
The use of Angiovit can cause allergic reactions, headaches and nausea.
Overdose
Symptoms of an overdose of Angiovitis are dizziness, nausea, and increased side effects of the drug. In this situation, it is necessary to immediately flush the stomach and take activated charcoal. According to indications, symptomatic therapy is prescribed.
special instructions
Angiovitis should not be prescribed simultaneously with drugs that increase blood clotting.
During treatment, it should be borne in mind that folic acid reduces the effectiveness of phenytoin, and methotrexate, triamterene, pyrimethamine negatively affect its action.
During pregnancy and during breastfeeding, the vitamin complex is prescribed exclusively after medical advice.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and complex mechanisms
Reception of Angiovit does not negatively affect the ability to drive vehicles or perform potentially hazardous types of work.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
The appointment of Angiovitis during pregnancy prevents the dangerous hypovitaminosis of B vitamins, which can lead to the development of such severe pathological conditions in the fetus as weak immunity, heart defects, physical underdevelopment of the vascular system, delayed physical and mental development.
Also, the drug is recommended for use during pregnancy planning, since it ensures the full development of the central and peripheral nervous system of the fetus, the correct laying of the germ layers and their physiological development in the process of intrauterine ontogenesis.
Folic acid passes into breast milk, therefore, the use of the drug is not recommended during lactation.
Drug interactions
Folic acid reduces the effect of phenytoin, which requires an increase in the dose of the latter. Oral contraceptives, analgesics (with long-term treatment), estrogens, anticonvulsants (including carbamazepine and phenytoin) weaken the effect of folic acid, therefore, its dose must be adjusted upward. The absorption of folic acid decreases when it is combined with sulfonamines (including sulfasalazine), cholestyramine, antacids (including magnesium and aluminum preparations).
Trimethoprim, methotrexate, triamterene, pyrimethamine are dihydrofolate reductase inhibitors and weaken the effect of folic acid.
When Angiovit is taken simultaneously with diuretics, pyridoxine hydrochloride enhances their effect, while the activity of levodopa, when combined with vitamin B 6, decreases. The effect of taking pyridoxine is also inhibited when the drug is combined with estrogen-containing oral contraceptives, isonicotine hydrazide, cycloserine and penicillamine. Pyridoxine combines well with cardiac glycosides, promoting enhanced production of contractile proteins by myocardial tissues, as well as asparkam and glutamic acid (the body becomes more resistant to hypoxia).
The absorption of cyanocobalamin decreases when it is combined with potassium preparations, aminoglycosides, colchicine, antiepileptic drugs, salicylates. Taking cyanocobalamin with thiamine increases the risk of allergic reactions.
According to the instructions, it is forbidden to take Angiovit simultaneously with drugs that increase blood clotting.
Analogs
The most common analogue of Angiovitis is Triovit Cardio tablets.

Reviews about Angiovitis
According to reviews, Angiovit is a fairly successful and inexpensive multivitamin complex. Its use provides a gradual stabilization of the state of the cardiovascular system, and drug therapy helps to cope with a few side effects. Angiovitis is increasingly included in the scheme of prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease, since its active components normalize and regulate life expectancy, as well as improve its quality in patients prone to diseases of the cardiovascular system.
Most reviews on the use of the drug during pregnancy planning are also positive. Such conservative treatment allows you to restore the health of the expectant mother and prepare the body for childbirth. However, Angiovit is recommended to be taken exclusively under the supervision of a doctor for the timely correction of the ion-electrolyte balance and metabolism of substances.
