Unless the attending physician has indicated otherwise, children under 7 years of age are advised to take 40 ml of the product three to five times a day after meals, for children of the older age group - to drink from ¼ to ½ glass. Dosage for adults - half a glass of a drink with increased coughing attacks.
The drink is taken warm (but not hot!), The portion is drunk in small sips.
Home remedies for cough milk with figs: recipes
The most popular recipe for cough milk figs is simple enough to be repeated at home.
Two glasses of milk are poured into a small saucepan and placed over low heat. Several figs are crushed and added there, after which the mixture should be brought to a boil and cooked over low heat until the amount of liquid decreases by a third, and the product acquires a thicker consistency. When this happens, the pan is removed from the heat, covered with a lid, and wrapped in a towel, scarf or blanket - something that can provide good thermal insulation. The finished mixture is infused in this form for a few more hours, during which time the liquid will not have time to cool completely, but the figs will give all their useful properties to milk, because of which it will acquire the effect of a real medicine. A properly prepared drink is thick, sweet, gently envelops the mucous membrane.
It is impossible to cool the drink in the refrigerator, since the fat and liquid fraction of milk will separate, and the drink will lose some of its beneficial properties. However, after the fig milk has cooled down, it can be refrigerated and stored there for 1-2 days. For reuse, it must be heated - in a water bath or in a microwave oven.
If you are lactose intolerant, you can prepare the drug without milk, using only figs. 3-4 fruits are chopped, poured over with two glasses of water and put on low heat. After boiling, a glass of sugar is added, the mixture is thoroughly stirred and boiled for half an hour, during which the syrup becomes thicker. After half an hour, it is removed from the heat and allowed to cool. You can add lemon or honey to fig syrup. Reviews about him are no worse than about fig milk, it helps well with colds.
