Thousands of women face unwanted pregnancies every year.

The main reasons for abortion are: medical indications due to health conditions and indications of miscarriage, lack of knowledge about sexual culture between young people, poor-quality contraception or unwillingness to use it, and the worst option is pregnancy due to rape. To maintain the health of a pregnant woman, an abortion should be carried out as early as possible, immediately after the diagnosis is made. Surgical abortion at 12 weeks

The period from 7 to 13 weeks of pregnancy is considered the initial stage of fetal development, but for an abortion this will already be a late period. Beginning more than 13 weeks, abortion is performed in almost all cases by surgery: the fetus is dissected and removed from the woman's uterus. I would like to know why women are thinking about abortion at such late stages of pregnancy, why they drag on with abortion for so long, why do they not leave the child if in doubt? It is impossible to answer this question sensibly.

In the Russian Federation, a woman has the right to have an abortion at 12 weeks and earlier, and no one has the right to stop her. But the termination of pregnancy after 12 weeks causes serious harm to the body and psyche of a woman. It is worth remembering that the longer the pregnancy, the more harm will be done to the woman during the operation.

At 7-12 weeks of gestation, the fetus in the womb is already beginning to form, all organs of the child's vital activity are developing. Therefore, abortion at such times is already considered late, but it is still carried out by the method of vacuum aspiration. But medical abortion at these dates is no longer practiced, since there is a possibility of incomplete release of the fetus due to its large size.

Abortion after 12 weeks

If the pregnancy proceeds without complications, then already at 9 weeks it will not be possible to interrupt it with medication. But there have been cases in gynecological practice when, due to the poor development of the fetus, an abortion was performed at 12 weeks and later with medication. However, this method does not give a 100% guarantee of a successful outcome for such periods. There remains the possibility that the fetus will not completely exit the uterus and then the only option for a woman is a vacuum abortion or, in the most severe cases, surgical cleaning (scraping). That is why doctors do not recommend the use of a medication method of termination of pregnancy for periods exceeding 6 weeks of pregnancy: in this case, it is not effective. The bulk of abortions, of course, are performed under general anesthesia.

Abortions after 3 months

A woman can still terminate a pregnancy or keep a child at 11 weeks on her own, but it should be remembered that serious harm can be caused.

An abortion at 12 weeks, as well as an abortion after 3 months, is carried out exclusively by scraping out an already formed fetus, in which even sexual characteristics can already be seen on an ultrasound examination.

If abortions after 12 weeks were more dangerous, they would be banned and done only for medical reasons. But, fortunately, most women who had abortions at such a late date tolerated them well. Also, surgical intervention for abortion after 3 months is fraught with complications such as damage to the cervix, hormonal breakdowns, menstrual irregularities and infertility.

Doctors are categorically against abortion after 3 months of pregnancy, and therefore a woman is no longer able to decide the fate of the fetus at such a time. Indications for abortion after 12 weeks are only the state of health of the fetus and mother.
