1 ml of solution contains:

  • active ingredients: succinic acid - 100 mg, nicotinamide - 10 mg, riboflavin (inosine) - 20 mg, riboflavin (sodium riboflavin phosphate) - 2 mg;
  • excipients: sodium hydroxide, N-methylglucamine (meglumine), water for injection - up to 1 ml.

Indications for use

Enteric-coated tablets

Cytoflavin tablets are recommended for adult patients for the complex therapy of the following conditions / diseases:

  • consequences of cerebral infarction;
  • other cerebrovascular diseases (CVD), including hypertensive encephalopathy, cerebral atherosclerosis;
  • neurasthenia, symptoms of which include fatigue, increased irritability, loss of ability to long-term mental and physical stress.

Solution for intravenous (IV) administration

Cytoflavin solution is used to treat children from birth, including premature babies (with a gestation period of 28–36 weeks), as part of the complex therapy of cerebral ischemia.

In adult patients, the solution is used in the treatment of the following conditions / diseases:

  • cerebral infarction;
  • consequences of CVD (cerebral infarction, cerebral atherosclerosis);
  • toxic and hypoxic encephalopathy due to acute and chronic poisoning, endotoxicosis; depression of consciousness after anesthesia;
  • hypoxic encephalopathy in cardiac surgery with the use of artificial circulation (therapy and prevention).

Contraindications

Absolute for all forms of release:

  • pregnancy and lactation (lack of data from clinical studies on the safety and efficacy of the drug during this period);
  • individual hypersensitivity to the active and auxiliary components of the drug.

Tablets are not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

The drug in the form of a solution is not prescribed for patients (except for children during the neonatal period) in a critical condition until the central hemodynamic parameters stabilize and / or in the case of a decrease in the partial pressure of oxygen in arterial blood PaO 2 <60 mm Hg. Art.

With caution, tablets and a solution of Cytoflavin are used by patients with nephrolithiasis, concomitant gout and hyperuricemia. If you have any of the listed diseases, you should consult your doctor before starting therapy.

In addition, pills are taken with caution for arterial hypotension, diseases of the digestive system, such as erosion, ulcers of the duodenum and / or stomach, gastritis and duodenitis (in the acute stage).

Method of administration and dosage

Enteric-coated tablets

Film-coated tablets, Cytoflavin
Film-coated tablets, Cytoflavin

The tablets are taken orally, without chewing, half an hour or more before meals, washed down with water in a volume of 100 ml.

Recommended dosage: 2 pcs. 2 times / day, observing the interval between doses from 8 to 10 hours, preferably in the morning and afternoon (no later than 18 hours).

The duration of the course of therapy is 25 days, a repeated course is allowed with a break of at least 1 month.

Solution for intravenous administration

In adult patients, the Cytoflavin solution is used only intravenously drip, after diluting the ampoule of the drug in 100-200 ml of sodium chloride solution (0.9%) or dextrose solution (5-10%), injected at a rate of 3-4 ml / min.

Recommended dosage:

  • cerebral infarction (as early as possible from the onset of the development of the disease): 10 ml every 8-12 hours for 10 days; for the treatment of severe forms of the disease, a single dose should be increased to 20 ml;
  • consequences of CVD (cerebral atherosclerosis, cerebral infarction): 10 ml once a day for 10 days;
  • toxic and hypoxic encephalopathy: 10 ml every 8-12 hours for 5 days; coma - 20 ml in 200 ml of dextrose solution (5%) for 1 injection, post-anesthetic depression of consciousness - once in the same dose;
  • hypoxic encephalopathy in cardiac surgery using artificial circulation: 20 ml per 200 ml of dextrose solution (5%) for 3 days before surgery, on the operating day and within 3 postoperative days.

For children (including premature babies) during the neonatal period, for the treatment of cerebral ischemia, the daily dose of Cytoflavin is determined at the rate of 2 ml per kg of the child's weight. The agent is administered intravenously drip (slowly) after dilution in a ratio of at least 1: 5 in a dextrose solution (5–10%). The first injection is made within 12 hours from birth, the first 2 hours of life are optimal for starting therapy. It is recommended to inject the prepared solution using an infusion pump, maintaining the infusion rate of 1-4 ml / h and ensuring a uniform flow of the drug into the bloodstream throughout the day. More precisely, the dose is determined based on the estimated daily volume of solutions for the main therapy, the state of hemodynamics and indicators of the acid-base state. The average course duration is 5 days.

special instructions

When taking Cytoflavin orally, patients with hypertension may need to adjust the doses of antihypertensive drugs taken simultaneously.

In the process of treating newborns (including premature babies) by intravenous administration of a solution of Cytoflavin, it is necessary to monitor the acid-base state of capillary blood at least 2 times a day - before and during infusion. It is also recommended to monitor serum lactate and glucose levels whenever possible.

Situations in which the rate of administration of Cytoflavin should be reduced or the infusion of the drug should be temporarily stopped in newborn (premature) children:

  • the appearance of signs of respiratory-metabolic (mixed) alkalosis, which threatens to impair cerebral circulation in children on artificial respiration;
  • the appearance of laboratory signs of metabolic alkalosis, threatening the appearance or increased frequency of apnea attacks, in children with preserved spontaneous breathing with respiratory support by the CPAP method (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure), or receiving an air-oxygen mixture through a mask.

Patients with diabetes mellitus are treated under the control of blood glucose concentration.

In the course of drug therapy, it is possible to stain urine in an intense yellow color.

The use of Cytoflavin does not affect the ability to drive vehicles, work with moving machines and mechanisms, perform the work of dispatchers and operators.

Drug interactions

Inosine, succinic acid and nicotinamide, which are part of Cytoflavin, are compatible with medicinal substances / preparations used simultaneously.

Pharmacological interaction of riboflavin:

  • doxycycline, tetracycline, oxytetracycline, erythromycin and lincomycin: their activity decreases;
  • imipramine, chlorpromazine, amitriptyline: increase the excretion of riboflavin in the urine;
  • thyroid hormones: accelerate its metabolism;
  • chloramphenicol: riboflavin reduces and prevents such side effects as optic neuritis, hematopoietic disorders;
  • drugs that stimulate hematopoiesis, antihypoxants, anabolic steroids: riboflavin is compatible with these drugs;
  • streptomycin: incompatible with riboflavin.
