Suprima-kof tablets
Suprima-kof tablets

Suprima-kof is a drug with mucolytic and secretolytic activity, a stimulator of the motor function of the respiratory tract.

Release form and composition

Dosage form of the drug - tablets: round, with beveled edges, from white to white-yellowish color, with a risk on one side (10 tablets in blisters, in a cardboard box 1-2 blisters and instructions for use of Suprima-kof).

Composition for 1 tablet:

  • active substance: ambroxol (in the form of hydrochloride) - 30 mg;
  • auxiliary components: propyl parahydroxybenzoate, croscarmellose sodium, corn starch, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl starch, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, calcium hydrogen phosphate, talc.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

The active substance of Suprima-kof - ambroxol hydrochloride, is a mucolytic agent with a secretolytic, secretomotor, expectorant effect.

The mechanism of action of the substance is due to the stimulation of serous cells of the glands of the bronchial mucosa, an increase in the content of mucous secretions and the release of a surfactant (surfactant) in the alveoli and bronchi. Ambroxol activates hydrolyzing enzymes and enhances the release of lysosomes from Clara cells, which leads to a decrease in sputum viscosity. It also has the ability to increase the motor activity of the ciliated epithelium and increase mucociliary transport.

With oral administration, the effect of Ambroxol develops within 30 minutes and lasts up to 6-12 hours.

Pharmacokinetics

Ambroxol hydrochloride is highly absorbed. The maximum plasma concentration (C max) is reached within 2 hours. About 80% of the agent binds to plasma proteins.

The drug penetrates the blood-brain and placental barriers, as well as into breast milk.

Biotransformed in the liver, resulting in the formation of glucuronic conjugates and dibromantranilic acid.

The drug is excreted by the kidneys: about 5% - unchanged, about 90% - in the form of water-soluble metabolites. The half-life (T 1/2) varies from 7 to 12 hours, it does not change in patients with impaired liver function, but increases in severe chronic renal failure.

Indications for use

Suprima-kof is prescribed for the treatment of diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by the formation of viscous sputum, such as:
