Strepsils Plus is an antiseptic drug for local use in otorhinolaryngology and dental practice, which has antimicrobial and local anesthetic effect.

Release form and composition

  • lozenges (lozenges): round, flat-cylindrical, with the letter S on both sides; bluish-green in color, the edges of the tablet may be uneven, inside the caramel mass there may be small air bubbles, on the surface - white bloom; have a characteristic menthol odor (4, 6, 8 or 12 pcs. in blisters; 1, 2 or 3 blisters in a cardboard box / metal box / laminated foil bag / attached to a cardboard cover);
  • dosed spray for topical use: red transparent solution with a characteristic odor [20 ml spray or 70 doses (≥140 valve clicks) in glass vials, sealed with a white plastic cap with a dispenser, closed with a white plastic cap; in a cardboard box 1 bottle].

Composition of 1 lozenge:

  • active ingredients: lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate - 10 mg; amylmetacresol - 0.6 mg; 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol - 1.2 mg;
  • auxiliary components: sodium saccharinate, tartaric acid, levomenthol, peppermint leaf oil, anise seed oil, indigo carmine, quinoline yellow dye, liquid dextrose (dextrose, poly- and oligosaccharides), liquid sucrose.

Composition of 0.5 spray dose (1 press on the valve):

  • active ingredients; lidocaine - 0.78 mg; amylmetacresol - 0.29 mg; 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol - 0.58 mg;
  • auxiliary components; glycerol, levomenthol, citric acid, sorbitol solution 70% (uncrystallized), saccharin, peppermint leaf oil, anise seed oil, azorubin (carmosin edikol), concentrated hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, purified water, ethanol 96%.

Strepsils Plus - a local remedy for sore throat is convenient and effective for active people who have to endure discomfort without interrupting their usual activities. The drug not only reduces the severity of symptoms and relieves pain, but is also able to destroy the main infectious agents (bacteria and viruses) - causative agents of sore throat.

Strepsils Plus contains unique antiseptic components - 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmetacresol, destroying bacteria, fungi, preventing the multiplication of viruses and their spread through the upper respiratory tract. The drug also has a direct analgesic effect, due to the presence of lidocaine in the anesthetic, and from the 5th minute of use it relieves sore throat. And in the form of a spray, the drug is effective even against severe pain.

Strepsils Plus in vitro is active against a wide range of both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, it is also effective against fungi.

Pregnant and lactating women during lactation are advised to use an antiseptic with caution.

Instructions for use Strepsils Plus: method and dosage

Strepsils Plus is used topically.

Recommended dosing regimen for adult patients and children over 12 years of age:

  • lozenges (lozenges): dissolve in the mouth 1 pc. every 2-3 hours; maximum - 8 pcs. per day;
  • metered spray for topical application: irrigate the inflamed area by pressing the head of the bottle twice to get 1 dose, repeating the procedure if necessary every 3 hours, but no more than 6 times a day.

The course of therapy should not exceed 5 days.

When using local preparations of antiseptic and analgesic action (spray, lozenges), it is more effective to get rid of a mild sore throat or relieve painful symptoms if the following requirements are met:

  • plentiful drink - at least 2.5 liters of liquid per day;
  • balanced diet;
