Lyophilisate for the preparation of a solution for intranasal use Sinuforte

Sinuforte is a herbal preparation that has a rhinosecretory stimulating, rhinosecretolytic and local decongestant effect. It is used for diseases of the paranasal sinuses.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - lyophilisate for preparation of a solution for intranasal use: hygroscopic, from white to light brown; prepared solution - from colorless to light yellow (50 mg each in colorless glass bottles, in a plastic tray 1 bottle complete with a spray nozzle and 1 polyethylene bottle with a solvent, 1 tray in a cardboard box).

Active ingredient: lyophilisate of juice and extract of fresh tubers of European cyclamen (with hemolytic index 1: 6000–1: 12,000), in 1 bottle - 50 mg.

Solvent: water for injection (5 ml).

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Sinuforte is a herbal preparation used for inflammatory diseases of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. The mechanism of its action is due to the effect on the trigeminal nerve receptors located in the middle nasal passage. Thanks to this effect, reflex secretion is caused in the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. As a result of hypersecretion, the rheological properties of the secretion change, and its viscosity is normalized.

Sinuforte also has a decongestant effect, which, in combination with reflex hypersecretion, leads to the release of secretions from the sinuses into the nasopharynx. This ensures simultaneous drainage of all sinuses.

The drug restores mucociliary transport and enhances blood microcirculation in the paranasal sinuses and nasal cavity. The improvement in microcirculation is due to the vasodilation of the vessels that supply the glands.

Hypersecretion in the form of serous-mucosal secretions occurs a few minutes after the application of the drug and lasts 30-120 minutes, depending on the individual characteristics of the patient.

Pharmacokinetics

The therapeutic effect of Sinuforte is due to the effects of the components that make up the cyclamen. To date, the most studied of these are triterpene saponins.

Pharmacokinetic parameters of the drug have not been studied, since these components and their metabolites cannot be traced using markers or appropriate bio-studies.

Indications for use

  • acute and chronic sinusitis: frontal sinusitis, sinusitis, sphenoiditis, ethmoiditis (with uncomplicated course of the disease - as monotherapy, in other cases - as part of complex therapy, with purulent sinusitis, occurring with symptoms of orbital complications and / or generalization of infection - in combination with antibiotics);
  • rhinosinusitis, accompanied by exudative otitis media (as part of complex therapy);
  • the period of early rehabilitation after endoscopic surgical interventions on the paranasal sinuses.

Contraindications

  • paranasal sinus cysts;
  • polypous rhinosinusitis;
  • allergic rhinosinusopathies;
  • arterial hypertension II and III degree;
