Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Relzer is a combined preparation with antacid and flatulence-reducing action. It neutralizes free hydrochloric (hydrochloric) acid in the stomach, thereby reducing the activity of pepsin. It has an enveloping and adsorbing effect, reduces gas formation in the intestines. Reduces the influence of damaging factors on the gastric mucosa, accelerates the healing of duodenal and gastric ulcers. Does not cause secondary hypersecretion of gastric juice.

The extract of licorice roots, which is part of Relzer, has antispasmodic activity, and also enhances the protective effect of other components on the gastric mucosa: it promotes the regeneration of mucous cells, improves the quantity and quality of mucus.

Simethicone helps to reduce gas production in the intestine.

Pharmacokinetics

The absorption of Relzer's components is low.

Indications for use

For both dosage forms:

  • Discomfort and pain in the epigastrium, dyspeptic symptoms (heartburn, belching with a sour taste) in case of errors in nutrition / diet, excessive consumption of coffee, alcohol and / or nicotine;
  • Peptic ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer in the acute phase;
  • Reflux esophagitis;
  • Hernia of the esophageal opening of the diaphragm.

Additionally:

  • For Relzer tablets: treatment and prevention of dyspeptic disorders due to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and glucocorticosteroids;
  • For Relzer suspension: duodenitis, acute gastritis, exacerbation of chronic gastritis, including those with increased secretory function.

Contraindications

  • Alzheimer's disease;

The tablets must be chewed and washed down with water, the suspension must be homogenized before taking by shaking the bottle.

Adults and adolescents over 15 years old are prescribed 1-2 tablets or 5-10 ml of suspension (1-2 tsp) 3-4 times a day.

Children 10-15 years old are recommended to take ½ the adult dose.

The duration of treatment is 14 days. Longer use of the drug is possible only as directed by a doctor.

  • On the part of the water-electrolyte balance: hypocalcemia, hypophosphatemia, hypercalciuria, hypermagnesemia, hyperaluminemia;
  • On the part of the digestive system: changes in taste, nausea, stomach cramps, constipation, vomiting;
  • From the musculoskeletal system: osteoporosis, osteomalacia;
  • From the urinary system: impaired renal function, nephrocalcinosis;
  • Others: allergic reactions, encephalopathy; in patients with concomitant renal failure - hyporeflexia, decreased blood pressure, thirst.

Overdose

With prolonged use of Relzer in high doses, the following undesirable reactions are possible: hypermagnesemia, constipation, drowsiness, metabolic alkalosis (unpleasant taste sensations, muscle pain, fatigue, mood changes, nervousness), and the formation of kidney stones.

It is recommended to induce vomiting, gastric lavage, and take activated charcoal.

special instructions

With long-term treatment (more than 14 days), the patient should be under constant medical supervision.

If necessary, the simultaneous use of other drugs between doses should be observed at 1-2-hour intervals.

According to the instructions, Relzer is prohibited for pregnant women.

If treatment is required during lactation, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

Pediatric use

Relzer is not used for the treatment of children under 10 years of age.

With impaired renal function

The drug should not be taken in patients with severe renal impairment.

Drug interactions

Relzer reduces and slows down the absorption of the following drugs: quinolones (including norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, enoxacin, ofloxacin, grepafloxacin), beta-blockers, tetracycline antibiotics, blockers of histamine H 2 -receptors, bile acids (henodesoxycholeic acid) anticoagulants, iron and lithium preparations, barbiturates, salicylates, indomethacin, digoxin, diflunisal, phenytoin, isoniazid, penicillamine, rifampicin, lansoprazole, dipyridamole, pivampicillin, zalcitabine, mexpromylethine, cepicipenadoxin.

M-anticholinergics slow down the emptying of the stomach, thereby lengthening and strengthening the action of Relzer.

With the simultaneous administration of drugs in enteric forms of release, a change in the pH of gastric juice (due to a more alkaline reaction) can cause accelerated destruction of the membrane and, as a result, irritation of the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum.

Analogs

Reltser's analogues are: Venter-Nova, Karbatsid Pechaevsky, Remmax-Kv, Renny.
