Methyltestosterone interacts on the surface of cells in target organs with specific receptors of the cytoplasmic membrane, penetrates into the nucleus and cytoplasm, which leads to the activation of the genetic apparatus.

Provides normal development and growth of male genital organs and secondary sexual characteristics: secretory activity and growth of the prostate gland, seminal vesicles, scrotum, penis, hair growth of the pubic and axillary regions, coarsening of the voice and thickening of the vocal cords, reduces fat deposition and increases muscle mass.

It leads to the retention of sodium, nitrogen, phosphates, carbonates, helps to reduce the excretion of calcium by the kidneys and its deposition in the bones. During puberty, it controls the growth of bones in length. Inhibits the release and production of LH and FSH (luteinizing and follicle-stimulating hormones) by the pituitary gland.

Pharmacokinetics

Methyltestosterone is rapidly absorbed after oral administration. C max (maximum concentration of the substance) is reached in 2 hours.

T 1/2 (half-life) - from 3 to 4 hours. Biotransformation takes place in the liver. It is excreted mainly by the kidneys: 10% - as an unchanged substance, 90% - in the form of metabolites.
