Pharmacological properties

The action of isotonic and isoionic electrolyte solution is aimed at normalizing the acid-base state, water-electrolyte balance and the level of water in the body. The imbalance of these factors is a severe pathophysiological syndrome that causes metabolic disturbances and leads to severe life-threatening consequences.

Indications for use

According to the instructions, Yonosteril is used in the following cases:

  • extracellular (isotonic) dehydration of various nature: vomiting, diarrhea, drains, fistulas, intestinal obstruction;
  • primary volume replacement for burns and blood loss.

Contraindications

  • hypertensive dehydration;
  • swelling;
  • severe renal failure.

Yonosteril, instructions for use: method and dosage

Yonosteril solution is used for intravenous (IV) infusion.

The maximum infusion rate can be 3 ml / kg per hour, which corresponds to 70 drops in 1 minute, or 210 ml in 1 hour with a patient's body weight of 70 kg.

The maximum permissible daily dose of Yonosteril is 40 ml / kg.

Treatment with the drug can last as long as the clinical condition of the patient requires.

Side effects

When using the solution in accordance with the recommended dosage, side effects are excluded.

Overdose

An overdose of Yonosteril can lead to overhydration, electrolyte imbalance and the development of metabolic alkalosis.

If an overdose is suspected, it is required to immediately stop the infusion, prescribe diuretics and correct the electrolyte balance. If oligoanuria occurs, it may be necessary to prescribe hemodialysis.

special instructions

During the period of therapy with Yonosteril, it is recommended to conduct continuous monitoring of the water balance and serum electrolytes in the blood.

To avoid the threat of air embolism during intravenous administration of the drug, completely remove air from the container or system for infusion before using it.

The solution for infusion must be used immediately after opening the package, subject to aseptic conditions.

Any unused residues of the medicinal product after a single infusion must be destroyed.

For infusion, you can use only a clear solution without mechanical impurities, contained in an intact package.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and complex mechanisms

There is no information on the negative effect of a rehydrating agent on the ability to drive vehicles and work with other complex mechanisms.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

The use of Yonosteril solution during pregnancy and lactation is possible only after a careful assessment of the ratio of benefits to the woman and the potential risk to the fetus / child.

Pregnant and lactating women are not allowed to exceed the recommended dose.

With impaired renal function

Drug therapy is contraindicated in patients with severe renal failure.

Drug interactions

  • angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, cyclosporins, tacrolimus, suxamethonium, potassium-sparing diuretics (spironolactone, triamterene, amiloride - alone or with combined use): the threat of hyperkalemia is aggravated;
  • corticosteroids: increases the likelihood of water and sodium retention in the body (edema and increased blood pressure);
  • vitamin D, thiazide diuretics: the risk of hypercalcemia increases;
  • cardiac glycosides: there is an increase in the toxicity of these drugs.

Analogs

The analogues of Yonosteril are Glucose Bufus, Glucose solution for infusion, Acesol, Dextrose, Ringer's solution for infusions, Trisol, Ringer's-Acetate, Disol, Ringer's lactate solution, etc.
