Inspiron is an anti-inflammatory agent.
Release form and composition
Dosage forms:
- Tablets in a film shell (10 pcs. In blisters, in a cardboard box 3 blisters);
- Syrup (150 ml in vials).
The active substance is fenspiride hydrochloride:
- 1 tablet - 80 mg;
- 1 ml of syrup - 2 mg.
Auxiliary components:
- Tablets: anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, povidone, dihydrate, calcium hydrogen phosphate, magnesium stearate, coating mixture;
- Syrup: extract of licorice root, potassium sorbate, sodium saccharin, glycerin, refined sugar, honey-linden aroma, vanillin, E 218, E 216, E102, E124, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Inspiron has an anti-inflammatory and anti-bronchoconstrictor effect, which is based on the following mechanisms:
- inhibition of H 1 -receptors of histamine, leading to relaxation of the smooth muscles of the bronchi;
- anti-inflammatory effect, due to which the synthesis of a number of anti-inflammatory factors (cytokines, TNF-a, metabolites of arachidonic acid, free radicals, thromboxane, leukotrienes, prostaglandins), which have a bronchoconstrictor effect, decreases;
- suppression of a 1 -adrenergic receptors that stimulate the production of viscous mucus by the bronchi.
Pharmacokinetics
The time to reach the maximum concentration in the blood after taking the drug is 6 hours. The half-life is 12 hours. The active substance is predominantly excreted in the urine.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Inspiron is indicated in the following cases:
- Acute and chronic forms of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory system, throat, ears and nose (as part of complex therapy): rhinitis, sinusitis, otitis media, rhinopharyngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
- Treatment of chronic and seasonal forms of allergic rhinitis and other allergic pathologies from the respiratory system and organs of otolaryngology (ENT organs);
- Pathogenetic therapy of respiratory manifestations of influenza and measles;
- Symptomatic treatment for whooping cough.
Contraindications
- The period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
In addition, Inspiron syrup is contraindicated in patients with lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, galactose intolerance.
Instructions for use of Inspiron: method and dosage
Inspiron tablets are taken orally before meals. The dose of the drug and the period of treatment are prescribed by the doctor taking into account the clinical indications and the patient's condition. The recommended daily dosage for adults is 2-3 tablets (at regular intervals between doses). The period of treatment for acute forms of diseases is 7 days, for chronic pathologies - up to 2 months.
Inspiron syrup is taken orally before meals, after shaking the contents of the bottle. The recommended daily dosage has age restrictions: for infants - the dose is determined at the rate of 4 mg per 1 kg of the child's weight; for children weighing up to 10 kg - 10-20 ml; from 10 to 45 kg - 75-90 ml; adults - 75-90 ml. The dose should be evenly distributed over 2-3 doses per day. The period of treatment is prescribed by the doctor.
Side effects
- From the gastrointestinal tract: often - gastric pain, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia;
- From the side of the cardiovascular system: rarely - sinus tachycardia;
- From the nervous system: rarely - drowsiness, agitation;
- Allergic reactions: very rarely - urticaria, rash, erythema, Quincke's edema, fixed erythema pigmentosa;
- Others: rarely - weakness, asthenia.
Overdose
In case of accidental use of a large volume of Inspiron, the following symptoms may develop: agitation or drowsiness, sinus tachycardia, nausea, vomiting.
Treatment: gastric lavage, electrocardiogram analysis, symptomatic therapy.

Patients with diabetes mellitus or following a low-calorie diet should take into account the sugar content in the syrup, in 1 teaspoon its amount is 3 g.
The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Inspiron syrup and tablets are not recommended for treatment during pregnancy and lactation.
Pediatric use
It is forbidden to use the drug to treat patients under the age of 2 years. Children over 2 years old can be prescribed Inspiron only in the form of a syrup.
Drug interactions
No clinically significant drug interactions have been recorded.
The simultaneous use of antibiotics and antipyretic agents is shown.
