Golden mustache (live hair, Far Eastern mustache, homemade ginseng, fragrant callisia, dichorizandra) is a herb belonging to the Kommelinov family.
Description
The plant can reach a height of 2 m, has long lateral shoots (whiskers) that end in young rosettes. With their help, dichorizandra multiplies.
The homeland of dichorizandra is the subtropical and tropical regions of South America and Mexico. Today, the plant is found in the Antilles, in Southeast Asia and tropical regions of America.
Application history
In Russia, the use of the golden mustache began in the 19th century. At first, the plant was used only for decorative purposes. In the middle of the 20th century, scientists became interested in the healing properties of the golden mustache.
After a number of studies, it was proved that the plant contains many biologically active substances, and the shoots produce biologically active energy. The plant sap is also very useful, it is not for nothing that it is called "living water".
Nowadays, dichorizandra is grown as a medicinal and ornamental plant at home, since it is extremely unpretentious to care for. Treatment with a golden whisker can be started when the lateral shoots form at least nine "joints" of a violet-brown hue. Infusions and decoctions are made from the plant, the juice of the plant is used for medicinal purposes.
Chemical composition
The beneficial properties of the golden mustache are due to the content of ascorbic acid, flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol and catechins), steroids, B vitamins, tannins, phytosterols, pectins, nicotinic acid and other biologically active substances.
The leaves of the plant contain many micro- and macroelements - potassium, magnesium, copper, zinc, calcium, cobalt, iron, nickel, strontium, rubidium, bromine, vanadium.
Treatment
Due to its many beneficial properties, golden mustache is widely used in traditional medicine. From the juice of the stems and leaves, tinctures, ointments and oils are made. For medicinal purposes, fresh mashed leaves and the trunks of the lateral shoots of the plant are used.
Due to the high content of biologically active substances, the golden mustache has been used in the fight against various infections. It is used to strengthen the immune system and the circulatory system, to stimulate metabolic processes in the body, to remove toxins from the body, and also as an analgesic, wound healing and anticancer agent.
Treatment with a golden mustache is effective for atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus, leukemia, chronic pancreatitis, osteochondrosis, bronchial asthma, a number of female and oncological diseases.
External use of the golden mustache (baths, compresses, lotions and rubbing) is effective in the treatment of skin diseases, burns, trophic ulcers, frostbite and joint diseases.
In case of a stroke, it is useful to massage the paralyzed parts of the body with plant juice.
When caring for problem skin of the face, the plant has also proven itself from the best side.
Contraindications
You should not start using the golden mustache without a doctor's recommendation. A contraindication to the golden mustache is a person's tendency to allergic reactions, since the substances contained in it accumulate in the body, causing allergies. For smokers, a golden mustache is also contraindicated, since when combined with nicotine, severe allergies may occur.
Golden mustache is contraindicated in kidney disease and prostate adenoma, during pregnancy and childhood, as well as in case of individual intolerance.
It was noticed that when ingestion of infusions and decoctions of the plant, the voice "settles" and is very difficult to recover.
