Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Detraven has a venotonic and angioprotective effect.
The main effects of the drug:
- reduction of vein distensibility and venous stasis;
- increasing the resistance of capillaries and reducing their permeability;
- increased lymphatic drainage;
- improved lymphatic drainage.
The optimal ratio of effect and dose is observed when using 2 tablets per day. The therapeutic efficacy of Detraven has been proven in the treatment of organic and functional chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremities, as well as hemorrhoids.
Pharmacokinetics
The composition of Detraven tablets includes a purified flavonoid fraction of hesperidin and diosmin in micronized form, i.e., the size of the particles of the active substance is reduced, due to this, their active absorption and a faster onset of action are ensured.
Diosmin in the gastrointestinal tract is rapidly processed by the intestinal (parietal) microflora and absorbed into the blood in the form of aglycone - diosmethine, which is soluble in lipids. The forms of diosmin that remain unprocessed are not absorbed in the body.
The redistribution of matter by blood through tissues occurs very quickly. Animal experiments using radiolabeled diosmin show that its metabolites are widely distributed throughout the body. The maximum concentration of diosmethine in the blood is reached within 1-3 hours after oral administration of Detraven.
The drug undergoes extensive metabolism, this is confirmed by the presence of various phenolic acids in the urine. Excretion is carried out mainly with feces; an average of 14% of the dose is excreted in the urine. The half-life is 11 hours.
Indications for use
Detraven is prescribed concurrently with other medicines to treat the following symptoms:
- venous lymphatic insufficiency, in the form of heaviness, pain and swelling in the legs, trophic disorders;
