Vitrum Osteomag is a multivitamin complex with micro and macro elements that regulates the exchange of phosphorus and calcium.
Release form and composition
Dosage form of Vitrum Osteomag - film-coated tablets: pink, oval, with beveled edges, VITRUM engraving on one side, OSTEOMAG on the other; the core on a cross section - from gray to white (30, 60, 100, 120 or 130 pcs. in polyethylene bottles, in a cardboard box 1 bottle).
Active ingredients in 1 coated tablet:
- colecalciferol (vitamin D 3) - 0.005 mg;
- magnesium - 40 mg (as oxide);
- Calcium 600 mg (as calcium carbonate from oyster shells)
- zinc - 7.5 mg (in the form of oxide);
- copper - 1 mg (as oxide);
- boron - 0.25 mg (as sodium borate);
- manganese 1.8 mg (as sulfate)
Auxiliary components:
- core: microcrystalline cellulose - 20.7 mg; croscarmellose sodium - 80 mg; magnesium stearate - 20 mg;

Vitrum Osteomag is a combined drug that regulates calcium metabolism. Its pharmacological action is determined by the properties of active substances:
- colecalciferol (vitamin D 3): helps to regulate the exchange of phosphorus and calcium in the body, preserve the structure of bones, takes part in the formation of the bone skeleton, enhances the absorption of calcium in the intestine and reabsorption of phosphorus in the renal tubules;
- calcium: essential for bone formation, blood pressure control, and blood clotting. Promotes the formation of teeth, bones, maintenance of healthy skin, increased bone density, normal functioning of the muscular and nervous systems. Reduces the likelihood of osteoporosis;
- magnesium: interacting with cholecalciferol, it helps to increase the absorption of calcium. Takes part in the mineralization and growth of bones, prevents the formation of calcium oxalate stones;
- manganese: required for the processes of energy production, metabolism of fats and proteins, building bones and connective tissue, osteosynthesis;
- zinc: takes part in the formation of bones;
- Boron: Required for maintaining healthy bones, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus metabolism. Helps to improve calcium absorption, reduce the likelihood of colecalciferol deficiency, prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis;
- copper: affects the formation of bone mass, red blood cells and hemoglobin. Takes part in the formation of collagen, which is part of the connective and bone tissues, helps prevent osteoporosis.

Indications for use
Vitrum Osteomag is prescribed as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent in the following cases:
- replenishment of vitamin D 3 and calcium deficiency in elderly patients, during / after menopause;
- senile osteoporosis and osteomalacia (treatment);
- osteoporosis of various origins (prevention);
- osteoporosis and other metabolic osteopathies (combination therapy in combination with special drugs).
Contraindications
Absolute:
- urolithiasis disease;
- severe impairment of renal function;
- increased calcium in the blood and its excretion in the urine (hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria);
- age up to 12 years;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Relative (diseases / conditions in the presence of which the use of Vitrum Osteomag requires caution):
- sarcoidosis;
- renal failure;
- pregnancy and lactation.

Vitrum Osteomag is taken orally in a daily dose of 1-2 tablets.
Side effects
- digestive system: nausea, constipation, flatulence, diarrhea, pain in the epigastric region;

Drug interactions
According to the instructions, Vitrum Osteomag can slow down the absorption of acetylsalicylic acid, antibiotics of the tetracycline group, as well as other salicylates, sulfonamides, indirect anticoagulants and beta-blockers. In this regard, it is recommended to observe an interval of at least 2 hours between the use of the vitamin-mineral complex and these drugs.
