Release form and composition
The dosage form of Vitaprost forte is rectal suppositories: torpedo-shaped, white with a yellowish, grayish or cream shade, the appearance of white plaque on the surface is permissible (5 pcs. In blisters, in a cardboard box 1 or 2 packages).
Composition of 1 suppository:
- active substance: prostate extract - 100 mg (in terms of water-soluble peptides - 20 mg);
- additional components: solid fat [witepsol (brands H15, W35), suppository (brands NA15, NAS50)] - in sufficient quantity to obtain a suppository weighing 1250 mg.

Vitaprost forte is one of the drugs of animal origin that have an organotropic effect on the prostate gland. It promotes a moderate decrease in the volume of the prostate gland, normalization of the parameters of the ejaculate and the prostate gland and the restoration of oxygen delivery to tissues experiencing hypoxia, which stimulates physiological repair.
The main effects of the drug:
- decrease in the degree of edema and leukocyte infiltration of the prostate gland, as well as pain and discomfort;
- improved copulatory function;
- normalization of the secretory function of epithelial cells;
- an increase in the amount of lecithin grains in the secret of acini;
- stimulating the muscle tone of the bladder;
- a decrease in the severity of irritative and obstructive symptoms in benign prostatic hyperplasia (manifested as a decrease in the volume of residual urine and an increase in the maximum and average volumetric flow rates of urine);
- improvement of microcirculation in the prostate gland (due to a decrease in antiplatelet activity and thrombus formation) and in the wall of the bladder (due to the expansion of intact vessels);

Vitaprost forte has an anti-inflammatory effect by stimulating regenerative processes and improving the processes of trophism of the bladder wall. A pronounced decrease in the increased activity of the bladder, which continues after the end of therapy, can be explained by a decrease in detrusor ischemia.

Vitaprost forte is used rectally.
