Release form and composition
Artelak Splash Uno is available in the form of a moisturizing ophthalmic solution 0.2%: transparent liquid without color (0.5 ml each in disposable dropper tubes: 2 dropper tubes in a strip, in a cardboard box 1 strip: 10 dropper tubes in strip, in a cardboard box 3 strips).
1 ml of solution contains:
- active substance: hyaluronic acid (in the form of sodium hyaluronate) - 2 mg;
- auxiliary components: sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, water for injection.
Pharmacological properties
Artelak Splash Uno is a crystal clear hyaluronic acid solution designed to moisturize the eyes. Hyaluronic acid is a natural polymer that is part of the tear film of the human eye and has a high ability to bind to water.
Three layers of tear fluid provide the eyes with normal functioning and clear vision by supplying the surface of the eye with nutrients and creating a lubricating protective barrier between the cornea and eyelid.
An even distribution of the natural tear film over the surface of the eye occurs with each blink and protects the eyes from drying out. Violation of the amount of tear fluid causes superficial damage to the cornea, which is manifested by dryness and burning of the eyes. In some cases, an imbalance in the tear film causes redness and irritation of the eyes, a sensation of the presence of a foreign body in the eye, fatigue and watery eyes.
The solution does not contain preservatives, moisturizes the eyes, helps to normalize the tear film, and ensures a healthy state of the eye surface for a long time.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Artelak Splash Uno is indicated for intensive moisturizing of the anterior surface of the eye (cornea and conjunctiva) in the following conditions:
- dry eyes caused by lifestyle (stress on the eyes, exposure to environmental factors), prolonged use of the computer, accompanied by eye strain and occasional blinking, being in an air-conditioned room, exposure to cigarette smoke and strong wind;
- severe dryness of the eyes, which has arisen against the background of systemic diseases, performing eye surgeries, taking medications (including beta-blockers, contraceptives, antispasmodics, diuretics, antihistamines);
- discomfort when wearing soft and hard contact lenses.
Contraindications
The use of the solution is contraindicated in patients with established hypersensitivity to its components.
Instructions for use of Artelak Splash Uno: method and dosage
The solution is instilled into the conjunctival sac of the eye.
The procedure should be carried out in compliance with the rules of asepsis, thoroughly washing your hands and avoiding contact of the tip of the dropper tube with any objects, including the eyes, fingers.
The contents of 1 dropper tube are for one procedure only.
Recommended dosage: 1 drop in each eye as needed.
To carry out the procedure yourself, you need to hold the dropper tube by the flat surface with the label and separate it from the strip. Twist and remove the upper tip of the dropper tube - the drug is ready to use. When instilling, the dropper tube is held with the tip down, positioning it vertically in the direction of the eye. Throwing your head back a little, with the finger of your free hand, you should pull down the lower eyelid and carefully squeeze out one drop. For even distribution of the solution on the surface of the anterior chamber, the eyes should be closed after instillation, make them several circular movements, then blink.
The solution can be instilled without removing hard or soft contact lenses.
Side effects
In rare cases, the use of the solution causes the development of local allergic reactions.
