Ampiox is a combined broad-spectrum antibiotic.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - capsules: size No. 0, white; contents - granules of white or almost white color (10 pcs. in blisters and 20 pcs. in dark glass jars, in a cardboard box 2 packs or 1 can and instructions for use of Ampiox).
Active ingredients in capsules:
- ampicillin trihydrate (in terms of ampicillin) - 0.125 g;
- oxacillin sodium salt (in terms of oxacillin) - 0.125 g
Auxiliary components: sugar (sucrose), potato starch, magnesium stearate, talc, primellose.
The composition of the capsule shell: gelatin, titanium dioxide.

Ampiox is a combined antibiotic that combines the spectrum of action of two active substances:
- Ampicillin: is a semi-synthetic penicillin, has a bactericidal effect, exhibits acid resistance. It is active against gram-positive, non-forming penicillinase (Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp.) And gram-negative (Neisseria meningitidis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli, Shigilella spp., Influenza miroorganizm, Shigilella spp.;
- Oxacillin: is a penicillinase-resistant semi-synthetic antibiotic from the penicillin group, showing acid resistance. Possesses bactericidal action against gram-positive microorganisms (Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Bacillus anthracis, Actinomyces spp., Anaerobic spore-forming rods, including Gram-negative bacteria), including Gram-negative bacteria gonorrhoeae), K. pneumoniae, E. coli, H. influenzae, Treponema spp., Actinomyces spp., Pr. mirabilis.
Pharmacokinetics

Indications for use
Ampiox capsules are prescribed for the following diseases:
- Respiratory tract and lung infections (pneumonia, bronchitis);
- Angina;
- Inflammation of the renal pelvis and kidney tissue (pyelitis, pyelonephritis);
- Inflammation of the gallbladder and bile ducts (cholecystitis, cholangitis);
- Inflammation of the bladder (cystitis);
- Infected wounds and burns, skin infections;
- Sepsis (bacterial blood poisoning);
- Postpartum infection;
- Prevention and treatment of infections in newborns;
- Prevention of purulent postoperative complications.
The use of the drug is also advisable with an unidentified antibioticogram and an unselected pathogen.
Contraindications
Ampiox capsules are not prescribed for hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, lymphocytic leukemia, infectious mononucleosis. Particular care is required when prescribing the drug to children whose mothers have an increased sensitivity to penicillin.
During pregnancy, it is possible to use Ampiox according to indications. During lactation, if it is necessary to use the drug, it is recommended to refuse breastfeeding.
Ampiox, instructions for use: method and dosage
Before starting therapy, the desired procedure is to determine the sensitivity to the drug of the microflora that caused the disease.
Ampiox is prescribed in a daily dosage:
- Adults and children over 14 years old - 2-4 g;
- Children 7-14 years old - 50 mg / kg;
- Children 3-7 years old - 100 mg / kg.
The daily dose of the drug should be divided into 4-6 doses. The average duration of treatment is 1-2 weeks.

Drug interactions
- Aminoglycosides, antacids, laxatives, glucosamine, food: slowing down and decreasing the absorption of Ampiox;
- Ascorbic acid: increased absorption of the drug;
- Bacteriostatic drugs (including lincosamides, macrolides, tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, sulfonamides): antagonistic action;
- Bactericidal antibiotics (including rifampicin, vancomycin, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides): synergistic action;
- Oral contraceptives, drugs, in the process of metabolism of which para-aminobenzoic acid is formed, ethinyl estradiol: a decrease in their effectiveness, an increase in the likelihood of breakthrough bleeding;
- Indirect anticoagulants: increasing their effectiveness, which occurs due to the suppression of intestinal microflora, a decrease in the synthesis of vitamin K and the prothrombin index;
- Allopurinol: the likelihood of a skin rash increases;
- Probenecid, diuretics, phenylbutazone, allopurinol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: tubular secretion decreases, the concentration of Ampiox in plasma increases, which leads to an increased risk of toxic effects.
