Calamus rhizome is a herbal preparation that stimulates appetite and improves digestion.
Release form and composition
Dosage forms:
- Rhizomes (in paper bags of 100 g, 1 bag in a cardboard box; in filter bags of 1.5 g, 10 or 20 filter bags in a cardboard box);
- Crushed rhizomes: pieces of rhizomes of yellowish or pinkish, sometimes grayish-greenish color, of various shapes, pass through a sieve with holes of 7 mm, have a strong aromatic, characteristic odor; the taste of water extraction is spicy-bitter (in paper, plastic or polypropylene bags of 35, 50, 75 or 100 g, 1 bag in a cardboard box);
- Rhizomes-powder: a mixture of whitish-beige, yellowish-white, pinkish-gray particles of calamus rhizomes of various shapes, with a partially preserved brownish or yellowish-brown cork, pass through a sieve with holes of 2 mm, have a strong aromatic, characteristic odor; the taste of the water extract is spicy-bitter (in 1.5 g filter bags, 10 or 20 filter bags in a cardboard box);
- Shredded vegetable raw materials (in bags of paper, parchment, polypropylene, moisture-proof paper or in paper bags with a latex coating or a polyethylene layer of 30, 35, 40, 50, 75, 100 g, 1 bag in a cardboard box);
- Whole vegetable raw materials (in bags of 10, 15, 20, 25 30, 35, 40 or 50 kg);
- Vegetable raw materials-powder (in filter bags of 1.5 g, 10, 20, 24, 30 or 50 filter bags in a cardboard box).
The composition of 1 g of raw materials or 1 filter bag includes the active substance: Calamus rhizomes (containing essential oil, bitter glycoside acorin, tannins and other biologically active compounds) - 100%.
Indications for use
Calamus rhizomes are prescribed as a means of increasing appetite and improving digestion as part of the complex treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, including dyspeptic disorders, chronic gastritis, chronic cholecystitis, and biliary dyskinesia.
Contraindications
- Pregnancy and lactation;
- Age under 12;
- Hypersensitivity to the active substances of the drug.
Method of administration and dosage
Cooking method:
- Vegetable raw materials: 2 tablespoons (10 g) of crushed rhizomes should be placed in an enamel bowl, pour 1 glass (200 ml) of boiled hot water, heat for 15 minutes in a boiling water bath with a closed lid, then cool for 45 minutes at room temperature, strain and squeeze out the remaining raw materials. The resulting volume is brought to 200 ml with boiled water;
- Filter bags (1.5 g): 2-filter package must be placed in a container (glass or enamel), pour 1 / 2 cups (100 ml) boiling hot water, cover, leave for 20 minutes, then squeeze the filter -packages. The resulting volume is brought to 100 ml with boiled water.
The resulting infusion is taken orally warm, preferably 30 minutes before meals.
Single dose - 1 / 4 cup, the multiplicity of reception - 3-4 times a day.
The recommended course duration is 2-3 weeks.
It is recommended to shake the infusion before taking it.
