Release form and composition

Dosage form - capsules: gelatinous soft, oval, with an opaque shell in black and red; content - greenish-brown liquid with a characteristic odor (in blisters of 15 pcs., in a package of 1, 2 or 4 blisters).

Active ingredient: alcoholic extract of creeping palm fruits (in a ratio of 9-11: 1), in 1 capsule - 320 mg.

Additional components: succinylated gelatin, titanium dioxide, purified water, glycerol, Ponceau R crimson dyes and black iron oxide.

Pharmacodynamics

The active substance Prostamol Uno is an extract of creeping palm fruit (lat. Serenoa repens), has anti-edema, anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative and antiandrogenic effects. The effects of the drug are selectively manifested on the function of the prostate gland. At the same time, Prostamol Uno does not affect the level of sex hormones and prostate-specific antigen in blood plasma, as well as libido and potency.

The local antiproliferative effect is manifested in the form of a decrease in the activity of growth factors (mainly fibroblastic and epidermal), inhibition of the binding of prolactin receptors and subsequent disruption of signal transmission to prostate cells and acceleration of apoptosis of prostate cells. Cumulatively, the effects affect the inhibition of the growth of the volume of the prostate gland.

The mechanism of local antiandrogenic action is associated with inhibition of the synthesis of dihydrotestosterone from testosterone (due to the inhibition of the enzyme 5-alpha reductase I and II types) and its fixation to the cytosolic receptors of prostate cells. As a result of preventing the penetration of the hormone into the nucleus, protein synthesis decreases.

The development of local anti-inflammatory action is due to the fact that the plant fruit extract inhibits the activity of phospholipase A2, 5-lipoxygenase and the release of arachidonic acid, which leads to a decrease in the synthesis of leukotrienes and prostaglandins, which are inflammatory mediators.

Prostamol Uno reduces vascular stasis and capillary permeability, reduces inflammation and swelling in the prostate, and also eliminates compression of the bladder neck and urinary tract, which improves urodynamic parameters.

Thanks to therapy, on the one hand, the severity of the pathological symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (nocturia, dysuria, pollakiuria, incomplete emptying of the bladder, feelings of tension and pain during urination) decreases, the strength and volume of urination increases. On the other hand, there is a slowdown in further growth and increase in the volume of the prostate gland.
