Release form and composition
Persen Night is available in the form of capsules: size 2, body and cap are brown with a red tint; filling of capsules - pressed mass or granules from brown with green to brown, inclusions are allowed (10 pcs. in blisters, in a cardboard box 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8 blisters).
Composition for 1 capsule:
- active ingredients (in the form of dry extracts): valerian (rhizomes with roots) - 125 mg, lemon balm leaves - 25 mg, peppermint leaves - 25 mg;
- auxiliary ingredients: magnesium oxide, magnesium hydrosilicate, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide;
- composition of the capsule shell: titanium dioxide (E171), dye iron oxide red (E172), quinoline yellow dye (E104), sunset yellow dye (E110), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E128), azorubin (E122), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E126), gelatin.

Persen Night has sedative antispasmodic efficacy due to the content of active herbal ingredients:
- rhizomes with valerian roots (extract) - have a moderately pronounced sedative effect;
- lemon balm and peppermint leaves (extract) - have antispasmodic and sedative effects.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Persen Night is recommended for insomnia (difficulty falling asleep) associated with excessive nervous excitability.
Contraindications
Absolute:
- arterial hypotension;
- lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption;
- gallstone disease, cholangitis, other diseases of the biliary tract;
- the period of pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding);
- children under 12 years of age;
- hypersensitivity to the active and auxiliary components of the phytopreparation.
The drug is prescribed with caution for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Instructions for use Persen Night: method and dosage
Persen Night is intended for oral administration. The capsules are taken orally, regardless of the meal time, washed down with a small amount of water.
Recommended dosage (for insomnia): children over 12 years old and adult patients - 1-2 capsules 1 hour before bedtime. The duration of the course of therapy is 2–4 weeks. The drug should not be taken continuously for more than 7-9 weeks.
If it is necessary to prolong the course of therapy, it is necessary to consult a doctor.
Discontinuation of treatment does not cause withdrawal symptoms.
Side effects
- digestive system: constipation (in case of prolonged use);
- respiratory system: bronchospasm;

Overdose
Symptoms of an overdose with a single dose of 20 g of valerian rhizomes with roots (the approximate dose contained in 39 capsules of the drug) are dilated pupils, stomach cramps, fatigue, dizziness, a feeling of constriction in the chest, tremors of the hands. These reactions can go away on their own throughout the day.
For treatment, gastric lavage is recommended.
The patient must inform the attending physician about all cases of overdose.
