Tomicide is an antimicrobial drug.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - solution for local and external use: transparent, light brown, has a sour taste (90, 200, or 450 ml in vials for blood substitutes, in a cardboard box 1 bottle).
Composition per 100 ml of solution: tomicide (sterile metabolic product of the non-pathogenic streptococcus Streptococcus sp. TOM-1606) - 100 ml.
Pharmacological properties
The drug has a bactericidal effect against gram-positive cocci.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Tomicid is intended for the treatment of the following conditions / diseases caused by gram-positive cocci:
- angina;
- varicose veins with and without ulcers;
- pyoderma;
- open wounds;
- suppurating wounds;
- local infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissues;
- decubital ulcer;
- ulcers of the lower extremities.
The solution is also used to prevent suppuration of postoperative wounds.
It is allowed to use the drug with the association of gram-positive cocci with other pathogens.
Contraindications
There are no contraindications to the use of Tomitsid.
Instructions for the use of Tomicid: method and dosage
The drug is indicated for external use.
Recommendations for use:
- sore throat: gargle with 10-15 ml of a solution heated to 37-42 ° C, the duration of contact with the mucous membrane should be 3-5 minutes. Rinsing is carried out 5-6 times a day until the symptoms disappear;
- pyoderma (superficial streptostaphyloderma, boils, carbuncles, hydradenitis, secondary forms of pyoderma complicating various dermatoses, trophic ulcers complicated by secondary purulent infection): imposition of wet dressings soaked in solution 2-3 times a day, treatment should be continued until symptoms disappear;
- purulent wounds: the wound needs to be pretreated by removing the purulent-necrotic substrate from it, then it should be loosely tamponed with Tomicid (5-10 ml). Before the appearance of bleeding juicy granulations in the wound, dressing is carried out 1 time per day, then they switch to the combined therapy of Tomicide with vaseline or castor oil in equal proportions. Treatment is continued until the wound heals. In addition, it is allowed to use Tomitsid for washing closed purulent passages localized in bone and connective tissue;
- prevention of suppuration of postoperative wounds: apply wet dressings moistened with a solution directly on the wound surface 1 time per day, the duration of the drug is 3-5 days.
Side effects
When using Tomicid on the affected area of the skin, a short-term burning sensation may occur.

A drug with an indistinct marking on the bottle, a violation of its integrity, with an expired shelf life, as well as in the case of a cloudy solution (before use, the bottle must be shaken and check the transparency of the liquid) is not suitable for use.
