Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Tambuil is a lipid complex, a solution of peloids (therapeutic mud of Lake Tambukan) in sunflower oil. The composition of the preparation in the form of a unique lipid complex includes: polar pigments - chlorophylls, phospholipids (cephalins and lecithin); non-polar pigments - carotenoids, mono-, di-, triglycerides (saturated / unsaturated), sterols, sterides (sterol esters), free fatty acids, fatty acid esters, hydrocarbons (waxes, etc.).
The drug exhibits antimicrobial activity and stimulates reparative regeneration in case of skin lesions.
The action of individual active substances in Tambuil:
- unsaturated fatty acids: the main plastic material of biological membranes; a deficiency of unsaturated fatty acids negatively affects the course of atherosclerosis, which is the cause of most cardiovascular pathologies, which occupy the first place in the structure of human mortality;
- carotenes: precursors of vitamin A; stimulate the function of the immune system, have an antioxidant effect, improve the metabolism of nerve cells;
- chlorophylls: strengthen the cell membrane, take part in the formation of connective tissues, promote the healing of erosions, ulcers, open wound surfaces, accelerate phagocytosis (thereby enhancing immunity), remove toxins from the body, have a weak diuretic effect, participate in maintaining the work of the pancreas and thyroid glands, alleviate anemic conditions, regulate blood pressure, strengthen the digestive tract, reduce nervousness. The need for chlorophyll increases in people who receive insufficient sunlight (office workers, inhabitants of megacities, living in cities without a break);
- vitamin K: slows down the formation of calcium oxalate crystals in the urine, is used to prevent the formation of calculi in the organs of the urinary system.
Studies aimed at studying the local effect of ultrasonic phonophoresis using an oil solution of Tambuil on the thymus area have shown that this procedure contributed to the correction of immunodeficiency states. This was expressed in the stabilization of the functional state of the immune T-lymphocyte system and an increase in the activity of phagocytosis. Such a combination is most effective for the treatment of disorders of adaptive-homeostatic systems in case of radiation injuries, for example, among liquidators of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
A distinctive feature of Tambuil is also its insignificant ability to cause toxic and allergic negative side reactions. This allows the drug to be used for a long time to treat patients of various groups, even with impaired immunity and a tendency to hypersensitivity.
Pharmacokinetics
There is no data.
