Latin name: Subalinum
ATX code: A07FA50
Active ingredient: hay stick (Bacilus subtilis)
Producer: Biopharma FZ, LLC (Ukraine)
Description and photo updated: 2018-23-11
Subalin is an immunomodulatory, antibacterial, antiviral microbial preparation that helps to restore the quantitative and qualitative composition of the intestinal microflora.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - powder for the preparation of oral suspension: from light to dark brown or from white to dark gray, has a specific smell and sweetish taste (in a cardboard box 10 bottles of 1, 2 or 10 doses of powder).
Composition of 1 dose of powder:
- active substance: live microbial cells of Bacillus subtilis UKM V-5020 - not less than 1 × 10 9 (microbial mass of live antagonistically active culture of Bacillus subtilis UKM B-5020, lyophilized with the addition of sucrose-gelatin medium);
- auxiliary components: gelatin, sucrose, sodium chloride.
Pharmacological properties
The therapeutic effect of Subalin is determined by the living bacteria that are part of it, which have high antagonistic activity against pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms. They are characterized by antiviral activity (due to the synthesis of α-2 interferon). Also, live bacteria contribute to the normalization of the quantitative and qualitative composition of the intestinal microflora.
When Subalin is included in the complex treatment of chronic viral hepatitis in children in combination with intestinal dysbiosis (dysbiosis) and endotoxicosis syndrome, clinical symptoms are stopped, including asthenic-vegetative syndrome and chronic intoxication syndrome, and the manifestations of pain syndrome and dyspeptic disorders decrease.
Subalin helps to accelerate the positive dynamics of biochemical parameters in the blood serum of sick children, which manifests itself as an increase in the total protein content, a decrease in the thymol test, a decrease in the content of average weight molecules (MSM), which leads to a decrease in the level of endogenous intoxication of the body. Also, thanks to Subalin therapy, it is possible to completely restore the quantitative level of indigenous intestinal microflora (lactobacilli, bifidobacteria, E. coli) and eliminate pathogenic / opportunistic microorganisms from the intestine (yeast-like fungi of the Candida family, enterobacteria, staphylococci).
Indications for use
For adults, Subalin is prescribed as part of the complex treatment of the following diseases / conditions:
- viral acute hepatitis A and B;
- viral chronic hepatitis B;
- carriage of the hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg);
- bacterial and viral-bacterial meningoencephalitis;
- acute intestinal infections (in mild to moderate severity, as well as in severe cases in patients with contraindications to antibiotic therapy) caused by pathogenic / opportunistic microorganisms (Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., enteropathogenic E. coli, Staphylococcus spp., Proteus spp., Candida spp.), Including antibiotic resistance;
- conditions after acute intestinal infections in cases of isolation of pathogenic / opportunistic microorganisms, as well as in case of intestinal dysfunction.
For children, Subalin is prescribed in combination with other drugs for the treatment of chronic viral hepatitis B and C, occurring with endotoxicosis syndrome and intestinal dysbiosis.
Contraindications
A contraindication to the use of Subalin is the presence of an individual intolerance to its components.
