Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Stellanin-PEG is an ointment that improves tissue regeneration, has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity.

The mechanism of action of the drug is due to the antibacterial property of active iodine, which is part of 1,3-diethylbenzimidazolium triiodide. By inactivating enzyme proteins of bacteria and proteins of the bacterial wall, active iodine suppresses their synthesis.

In the treatment of purulent wounds, the high osmotic potential of the ointment ensures the evacuation of the separated purulent masses from the wound defect.
