Rinikold Broncho is a cough syrup that eliminates the symptoms of colds and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI).

Release form and composition

The drug is produced in the form of a syrup: a thick solution from pale orange to orange in color with a characteristic odor (100 ml in a dark glass bottle sealed with a screw-on metal lid, 1 bottle in a cardboard box and instructions for use of Rinikold Broncho).

1 ml of syrup contains:

  • active substances: chlorphenamine maleate - 2 mg, phenylephrine hydrochloride - 5 mg, ambroxol hydrochloride - 15 mg, guaifenesin - 100 mg;
  • additional components: methyl parahydroxybenzoate, sucrose, disodium edetate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sorbitol solution 70%, menthol, sodium citrate, glycerin (glycerol), citric acid, purified water, sunset yellow dye (E110), melon flavor.

Rinikold Broncho is a combined drug, the action of which is due to the properties of its active ingredients:

  • ambroxol and guaifenesin: contribute to the liquefaction of viscous bronchial secretions (sputum) and facilitate its evacuation;
  • chlorphenamine maleate: has an anti-allergic effect - eliminates itching in the eyes and nose, relieves lacrimation;
  • phenylephrine hydrochloride: exhibits a vasoconstrictor effect, reduces edema and hyperemia of the mucous membranes of the paranasal sinuses and upper respiratory tract.

Indications for use

Rinikold Broncho is recommended for symptomatic treatment of colds, acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, occurring with cough and the presence of viscous sputum difficult to separate.

Contraindications

Absolute:

  • arterial hypertension;
  • severe atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries;

The drug is taken orally. The syrup must be shaken before taking.

  • children 6–12 years old: 2–3 times a day, 10 ml (2 teaspoons);
  • adults and adolescents over 12 years old: 3 times a day, 20 ml (4 teaspoons).

Side effects

During drug therapy, the following undesirable reactions may occur:

  • cardiovascular system: increased blood pressure (BP), tachycardia;
  • central nervous system: dizziness, drowsiness, headache, falling asleep, irritability; in children - anxiety, agitation, irritability; in elderly people - irritability, confusion;
  • digestive system: loss of appetite, nausea, epigastric pain, vomiting, constipation / diarrhea;

  • glucocorticosteroids (dexamethasone, prednisolone, triamcinolone): the threat of glaucoma is increasing;
  • nialamide (MAOI), furazolidone: development of hyperpyrexia, agitation, hypertensive crisis is possible when combined with chlorphenamine;
  • tricyclic antidepressants: the sympathomimetic effect of these drugs increases;
  • guanethidine: its hypotensive effect decreases and the α-adrenostimulating activity of phenylephrine increases;
  • halothane: increased risk of ventricular arrhythmias;
  • antitussives: there is difficulty in sputum discharge when combined with ambroxol and guaifenesin.
