Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

As an active substance, Riboxin Avexima contains inosine, a drug that regulates metabolic processes, and has antiarrhythmic and antihypoxic effects. It is a precursor of the synthesis of purine nucleotides: guanosine triphosphate (GTP) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Takes a direct part in the metabolism of glucose, activates this metabolism in patients with hypoxia and ATP deficiency. Prevents the development of complications after intraoperative renal ischemia. Under the action of inosine, the coronary circulation improves, the energy balance of the myocardium increases.

Penetrating into cells, inosine improves metabolic processes in the heart muscle, promotes better relaxation of the myocardium in diastole, increases the strength of heart contractions, increases the energy level - all this leads to an increase in the stroke volume of blood.

The drug activates the metabolism of pyruvic acid, which contributes to the normal process of tissue respiration. Participates in the activation of xanthine dehydrogenase. Stimulates the activity of some enzymes of the Krebs cycles and the synthesis of nucleotides. Activates the regeneration of tissues, especially the myocardium and the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract. Reduces platelet aggregation.

Pharmacokinetics

Once in the gastrointestinal tract after ingestion, inosine is well absorbed. The process of metabolism undergoes in the liver, as a result glucuronic acid is formed, which is subsequently oxidized.

It is excreted in small quantities by the kidneys.

Reviews about Riboxin Avexim

Most of the reviews about Avexim's Riboxin are positive. The drug is well tolerated, practically does not cause side effects. It has a beneficial effect on the myocardium, and also promotes the regeneration of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract in destructive diseases, has a positive effect on metabolic processes in the kidneys and other organs.

Despite the fact that the drug is contraindicated in pregnancy due to the lack of data confirming its safety during this period, doctors sometimes recommend inosine to pregnant women, since it enhances tissue trophism and improves the adaptive abilities of the body, which contributes to an easier pregnancy.

Negative reviews about inosine were once left by athletes and bodybuilders who took the drug in order to improve physical performance and gain mass. However, it has long been proven that the drug does not have an anabolic effect on muscle mass.
