Combinil drops are available in dropper bottles in the form of a colorless to yellow solution. One vial of the drug contains 1 ml of ciprofloxacin and 3 mg of dexamethasone. Auxiliary components: disodium edetate, bezalkonium chloride, mannitol, hydrochloric acid, hydroxypropyl betacyclodextrin, water for injection.

Pharmacological action Combinil Duo

The active components of the drug ciprofloxacin and dexamethasone provide antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects.

Ciprofloxacin has pronounced activity against both multiplying and dormant gram-negative bacteria. Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid that acts as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent. This component reduces capillary permeability and proliferation, local exudation, cellular infiltration, collagen deposition and fibroblast activity. Thanks to dexamethasone, Combinil Duo is able to suppress the formation of scar tissue.

The experience of using Combinil drops shows that the active ingredient of the drug ciprofloxacin perfectly penetrates into various tissues of the eye (except for the lens). The maximum concentration of the active substance is observed half an hour after instillation in the moisture of the anterior chamber. Dexamethasone penetrates well into the conjunctiva and corneal epithelium.

The auxiliary component of the drug ensures long-term preservation of the active component on the surface of the eye, increasing the duration of action and the effectiveness of the drug.
