Instructions for use
For external use, methylene blue is used in the form of an alcohol solution of 1-3%. Treat the affected (pre-cleaned) areas with a cotton swab. The solution is applied to both damaged and adjacent healthy tissues.
For washing with cystitis, urethritis, an aqueous 0.02% solution is used (the powder is diluted in a ratio of 1: 5000)
Inside adults Methylene blue according to the instructions take 0.1 g three, four p / day.
Children also take a solution three, four r / day, but the required amount of funds is calculated based on the child's age: 0.005-0.01 g for one year.
In case of poisoning with carbon monoxide, cyanides, hydrogen sulfide, the solution is administered intravenously: 50-100 ml of 1% aqueous solution or 1% solution prepared with 25% glucose. In small dosages, the solution is used for poisoning with aniline and its derivatives, nitrite, and other methemoglobin-forming poisons: 0.1-0.15 ml / kg of a 1% solution is injected.
Side effects
Methylene blue can cause: damage to the tissues of the bladder, kidneys, epigastric pain, vomiting, nausea, anemia, allergic skin reactions (when applied externally).
The risk of developing side effects increases when treating a large area of the skin.
