Lactogin is a probiotic drug designed to restore the normal microflora of the vagina. In 2008, its trade name was changed, and now this drug is called Vagilak.
Release form and composition of Laktogin
Lactogin is available in the form of capsules and suppositories. Each capsule contains 10 9 Lactobacillus reuteri RC-14 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1. The package contains 15 capsules.
Suppositories Lactogin also contain live strains of lactobacilli Lactobacillus reuteri RC-14 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1, as well as starch, cellulose, dextrose and other auxiliary substances.
Pharmacological action of Laktogin
In the instructions for Laktogin, it is noted that this drug contains a unique combination of lactobacilli isolated from the urogenital tract of absolutely healthy women. These bacteria colonize the vagina and begin to produce lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide and other biologically active substances that protect against various disease-causing bacteria. As a result, oral administration of capsules or local use of Lactogin suppositories contribute to the creation of an acidic environment in the vagina (pH 3.8 - 4.5), which is necessary for the vital activity of normal vaginal microflora and is destructive for pathogenic microorganisms.
According to reviews, Lactogin very quickly eliminates itching and burning sensation in the perineal area, discomfort and other unpleasant signs of bacterial vaginitis. In addition, the use of Lactogin reduces the likelihood of a subsequent relapse of the disease by almost 80%.

According to the instructions, Lactogin can be used by women over 18 years of age in the following cases:

In rare cases, when using Lactogin suppositories, local allergic reactions may occur, manifested by a burning sensation, itching and discomfort in the genital area. In this case, the instruction to Laktogin recommends that women switch to oral administration of this drug in the form of capsules.
