Release form and composition

Dobrokam is produced in the form of tablets: flat-cylindrical, chamfered and risky, white or grayish, contain bromcamphor crystals, have a camphor smell (in cans of polymer materials or orange glass, 100, 50, 30 or 25 tablets, each can is placed in a box made of cardboard along with instructions for use).

1 tablet of Dobrokam contains:

  • active substance: bromcamphor - 250 mg;
  • auxiliary substances: potato starch - 41 mg, talc - 9 mg.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Dobrokam is a bromine preparation. It has a sedative effect and the ability to inhibit processes in the cerebral cortex, especially with high excitability of the central nervous system, like other bromides. Facilitates the onset of natural sleep.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug is readily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. Penetrates through histohematogenous barriers, including the placental one. Hydroxylated in the liver to oxymetabolites, in the form of glucuronides excreted by the kidneys.

Indications for use

Dobrokam is indicated for increased excitability, cardialgia, asthenia, tachycardia and lability of blood pressure.

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to bromides, camphor, as well as to excipients of Dobrokam, in case of renal or hepatic insufficiency, at the age of 7 years.

Instructions for use of Dobrokam: method and dosage

Dobrokam should be taken after meals.

  • children 7-10 years old: 1 tablet 2 times a day, the maximum daily dose is 0.5 g;
  • children 10-14 years old: 1 tablet 2-3 times a day, the maximum daily dose is 0.75 g;
  • children over 14 years old and adults: 1-2 tablets 2-3 times a day, the maximum daily dose is 1.5 g.

The course of treatment is 10-15 days.

When taking the drug, the following side effects can be observed: dyspeptic symptoms, allergic reactions, drowsiness, lethargy.

Overdose

Symptoms of an overdose of Dobrokam tablets: fever, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, anuria, muscle twitching, delirium, difficulty breathing, depression of the central nervous system, epileptiform seizures, camphor from the mouth, respiratory failure, coma.

Treatment: in case of an overdose of Dobrokam, the appointment of activated charcoal and saline laxatives, gastric lavage is indicated.

For convulsions, the use of intravenous fast-acting barbiturates - sodium thiopental or diazepam is recommended. Hemodialysis with lipid dialysate is also prescribed.
