Dimephosphon is an antiacidotic agent with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - solution for oral administration and external use 15%: yellowish or colorless transparent or opalescent liquid, has a peculiar smell (100 or 200 ml in glass brown or orange bottles, in a cardboard box 1 bottle complete with a measuring cup).

The active ingredient is dimethyloxobutylphosphonyldimethylate, in 100 ml - 15 g.

Auxiliary components: purified water.

Indications for use

Oral administration of Dimephosphone is indicated as part of complex therapy:

  • Chronic and acute forms of cerebrovascular accident;
  • Traumatic brain injury;
  • Consequences of hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes;
  • Migraine;
  • Vegeto-vascular dystonia of the parasympathetic type;
  • Diseases of the respiratory system;
  • Atopic bronchial asthma;
  • Chronic forms of nonspecific lung pathologies with symptoms of pulmonary heart and respiratory failure (the use of the drug does not relieve asthma attacks and does not affect the frequency of use of aerosols of beta-adrenomimetics);

Contraindications

  • Chronic renal failure of the II-III degree;
  • Epilepsy;

  • Age up to 18 years (in the treatment of chronic and acute disorders of cerebral circulation, craniocerebral trauma, the consequences of hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes, migraine, chronic forms of nonspecific lung pathologies with symptoms of pulmonary heart and respiratory failure, multiple sclerosis, chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency due to hypertension and atherosclerosis, osteochondrosis, Meniere's disease; during neurosurgical planned operations).

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the administration of the drug is allowed only if the intended therapeutic effect outweighs the likely risk to the fetus and child.

It should be applied with caution to mucous membranes, the solution may cause irritation, in this case it must be diluted in a 1: 1 ratio (one part of the drug for one part of water).

Method of administration and dosage

Dimephosphone solution is taken orally after meals with water.

The dose and the period of treatment are prescribed by the doctor based on clinical indications.

Dosing of the drug as part of complex therapy for adult patients:

  • Chronic and acute disorders of cerebral circulation, consequences of hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes, traumatic brain injury: 15 ml (1 tablespoon) 3-4 times a day, for 2-3 weeks, in special cases up to 6 weeks;
  • Chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency against the background of hypertension and atherosclerosis, migraine: 15 ml 3 times a day, for 2-3 weeks;
  • Chronic forms of nonspecific lung pathologies with symptoms of pulmonary heart and respiratory failure: 15 ml 3-4 times a day. Duration of treatment is from 7 to 10 days;
  • Neurosurgical elective operations: 15 ml once a day for 5 days before and 8 weeks after the operation;
  • Multiple sclerosis: 15 ml 3 times a day, for 10 days of each autumn-spring month;
  • Osteochondrosis: 10 ml (1 dessert spoon) 3-4 times a day. The course of administration is 2-3 weeks, improvement of the condition occurs after 8-10 days of treatment;
  • Meniere's disease: 15 ml 3 times a day, the course of treatment is 3 weeks.

The dose of the solution for the treatment of vegetative-vascular dystonia according to the parasympathetic type:

  • Adults - 15 ml 3 times a day, for 2-3 weeks;
  • Children over the age of 12 years - 10-15 ml 3 times a day, the course of treatment is 3 weeks.

When treating respiratory diseases, atopic bronchial asthma, acidosis and hay fever, I take Dimefosfon 3-4 times a day (depending on the severity of the condition) for 4-5 weeks, a single dosage has age restrictions:

  • Adults - 15-25 ml;
  • Children under 3 years old - 5 ml (1 teaspoon);
  • From 3 to 8 years old - 10 ml;
  • Over 8 years old - 15 ml.

Side effects

The use of Dimephosphone inside can cause side effects in the form of drowsiness, dyspeptic symptoms, and deterioration in concentration. They are temporary and go away after 3-4 days of taking the solution.
