Dermatix topical silicone gel
Dermatix topical silicone gel

Dermatix is an external drug that has an emollient, remodeling, antiproliferative and anti-inflammatory effect.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - silicone gel for topical use: transparent, odorless, self-drying on the skin (6 or 15 g in thermoplastic tubes, 1 tube in a cardboard box).

The active substance is a mixture of polymeric organosilicon compounds (polysiloxanes) with the addition of silicon dioxide (inorganic silicon compound).

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Dermatix gel provides even skin hydration and improves the appearance of scars. The drug has the following effect:

  • softens and smoothes protruding scars;
  • relieves scarring discomfort and itching;
  • reduces the violation of skin pigmentation, which accompanies the process of scar formation.

Dermatix gel can be applied to all areas of the skin (including folds, joints and face). The product dries quickly, forming an invisible "film".

Indications for use

  • Prevention of the appearance and correction of already existing keloid and hypertrophied scars after injuries, burns, surgical operations;
  • Reduction in the size of skin scars after wound healing;
  • Treatment of atrophic strictures and muscle contractures that limit mobility and spoil the aesthetic appearance.

Contraindications

The only contraindication to the use of Dermatiks gel is individual hypersensitivity to its components.

The drug should not be applied to fresh, open and unhealed wounds.

Instructions for the use of Dermatiks: method and dosage

Dermatix gel is intended for external use: a very thin layer should be applied to the affected areas 2 times a day.

Rules for using the drug:

  • Wash the treated skin area with warm water and mild soap, then blot dry;
  • Before the first use, after removing the cap, cut off the tip of the tube;
  • With a very thin layer, gently apply the gel to the affected area (the amount of the product depends on the size of the skin defect);
  • Without covering the lesion with clothes, and without applying cosmetics, let the gel dry completely in the air for 4-5 minutes (remember that fresh gel can leave stains on clothes);
  • If after 4-5 minutes the Dermatix gel does not dry out, then too much of it has been applied. It is necessary to remove the excess with a clean napkin and let the gel dry;
  • After the gel has completely dried, you can apply cosmetics if necessary.

The minimum duration of application of Dermatiks gel is 2 months. With more prolonged therapy, an increase in the positive effect is possible.

Side effects

The drug has no general effect on the body. In rare cases, there may be redness, a feeling of bloating and burning at the site of application. Itching is also possible due to the restructuring of the scar.

Overdose

There is no information on overdose cases.
