Gendevit is a multivitamin preparation used to prevent hypovitaminosis in pregnant and lactating women.
Release form and composition
The drug is produced in the form of pellets: regular spherical shape with a smooth, even surface, uniform color from greenish-yellow to yellow-orange color and with a weak characteristic odor (50 pcs. In polymer cans, in a cardboard box 1 can and instructions for use of Gendevit, 32 cans in shrink wrap, 144 cans in a cardboard box).
The composition of 1 tablet contains active substances:
- α-tocopherol acetate (vitamin E) - 5 mg;
- Retinol (vitamin A) - 3300 IU;
- Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) - 75 mg;
- Ergocalciferol (vitamin D2) - 250 IU;
- Riboflavin (vitamin B2) - 1.5 mg;
- Thiamin (vitamin B1) - 1.5 mg;
- Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) - 2 mg;
- Nicotinamide (vitamin PP) - 10 mg;
- Calcium pantothenate (vitamin B5) - 3 mg;
- Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) - 0.01 mg;
- Folic acid (vitamin Bc) - 0.3 mg.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
The pharmacological action of Gendevit is due to the properties of the active ingredients:
- Ascorbic acid: necessary to ensure collagen synthesis, takes part in the formation and maintenance of the function and structure of bones, cartilage, teeth, improves intestinal absorption and absorption of iron by the body;
- Retinol: essential for the maintenance of normal function of the skin, mucous membranes, and vision. Promotes the normal development of the placenta, ovo- and spermatogenesis, the development and differentiation of embryonic tissues, including epithelial structures and bone tissues;
- Riboflavin: is one of the most important catalysts for the processes of visual perception and cellular respiration;
- Thiamine: takes part in the functioning of the nervous system and carbohydrate metabolism as a coenzyme;
- Pyridoxine: participates in the synthesis of neurotransmitters and protein metabolism as a coenzyme;
- Nicotinamide: necessary to ensure the processes of tissue respiration, carbohydrate and fat metabolism;
- Cyanocobalamin: takes part in the synthesis of nucleotides, is one of the important factors in the growth and development of epithelial cells; required for normal blood formation, myelin synthesis and folic acid metabolism;
- Folic acid: participates in the biosynthesis of nucleotides, amino acids, nucleic acids; required for normal erythropoiesis. During early pregnancy, it helps to reduce the risk of developing defects in the maxillofacial region and neural tube defects in the fetus;
- Calcium pantothenate: as a component of coenzyme A, it takes part in the processes of acetylation and oxidation; necessary for the construction, regeneration of endothelium and epithelium;
- α-tocopherol: maintains the stability of erythrocytes, has antioxidant properties, prevents hemolysis, has a positive effect on the functions of the sex glands, muscle and nerve tissues.
