Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Vitaprost is a drug of animal origin for the treatment of chronic prostatitis. It has an organotropic effect on the prostate gland, which helps to improve microcirculation, reduce the degree of edema, increase the number of lecithin grains in the secretion of acini, leukocyte infiltration of the prostate, normalize the secretory function of epithelial cells, and reduce thrombus formation. The action of the drug stimulates the muscle tone of the bladder. Antiaggregatory activity prevents the development of venule thrombosis in the prostate gland.

The results of clinical studies confirm a moderate degree of reduction in the volume of the prostate gland. With benign prostatic hyperplasia, there is a decrease in the severity of obstruction and irritative symptoms. This is manifested by an increase in the average and maximum volumetric flow rates of urine and a decrease in the volume of residual urine.

Vitaprost has been clinically proven to be effective as a prophylactic agent to reduce the risk of exacerbation of chronic abacterial prostatitis. According to the assessment of medical researchers, it is 97.5%. The drug does not affect the indicators of general urine analysis, biochemical and clinical blood tests.

While using the drug, the parameters of the prostate gland and ejaculate are normalized, pain and discomfort caused by prostatitis are reduced, dysuric phenomena are eliminated, and copulatory function is improved.
